Worthy S:r

The last night at 9: of y:e Clocke, Coz:n Rich:d Hardresse (sic) came to Towne deasigndd (sic) then for Deale & was very earnest for all y:e papers & lres belonging to you, & though I used many arguments y:t y:e Ship Could not bee then in y:e Downes, the Burnt Child (sic) did dread the fire, & hee would not beleeve, but goo & see; upon w:ch I huddeled [?] up yo:r lres & finished them in an ample manner as you will finde, but expecting y:e hasty Gentleman this morning againe; for hee said hee would returne if y:e Shipps weare not in y:e Downes) I have sett pen to paper once more in order to some further Information in yo:r busyeness; & it is Concerning y:e perticulers of yo:r goods bought & sould, w:ch may bee very many & intangle (sic). & en-large, the Depositions much. If therein inserted as takeing notice of y:e Bookes of acco:tt sent you; I find: & therefore as to y:m if yo:r goods, procur’d on the letter of y:e 25:th of August (or you may Cause such Booke or Bookes & add an Interrogatory to y:e one of y:e rest, y:t are ingrosed, thus (in a faire hand or Caracter) add y:e Numbers as follow in Order.

Weare all the goods or Merchandises w:ch are Contaigned or mentioned in one Booke of acco:t, begining (sic) (heere put to or [?] 3: of y:e first words) or endeng (theire put to or 3: of y:e last words) or Containeing (y:e Number) ffolio:s provided by y:e Complaint S:r Geo: Oxinden, & y:e said Will:m Noke or one of one of y:m upon y:e acco:t of y:e lre recvd by them, Dated at London y:e 25:th day of August 1656:, from y:e said Complaints or some of them how doo you know y:e same, & are y:e prices therein sett downe, y:e true prices or rates at w:ch y:e said goods or Merchandizes were bought, speake your whole knowledge or beleefe heerein & y:e reasons for y:e same.

If you have severall wittnesses to severall parcell of y:e said goods, & not two or three y:e saame (sic) wittnesses to y:e whole acco:t, then you must make severall Bookes, writeings or papers, of y:e same, & soo add other & more Interrogationes y:t will Suite y:e said Bookes, papers or writeings in y:e forme of y:t aboud (changing w:t ought to bee changed as y:e beginnig (sic) ending & ffolios) or then sweare your Witnesses to yo:r said
