//to soe much thereof as concerneth him this defd:t to make answere unto saith and confesseth, that hee did buy in the East Indies (hee not being phibited or obliged by any person or persons whatsoever to the contrary)//

//of William Johnson seaventeen hundred & one peeces of Bettiloes Salampores & ?perculles: of William Daniell nine hundred thirty eight peeces of Bettiloes Salampores & ?pculles; of William Jearsey one//

//hundred & fifty peeces of Salampores & Bettiloes; of Ambrose Salsberrie (sic) ??patch of pculles one hundred & sixty and of certaine Banions (sic) & other Inhabitants in the Indies not being English but of other//

//bring home & land at plymouth being forty eight parcells (containing as aforesaid) & noe more to this defd:ts knowledge & were for this defd:ts pper accompt except Twenty five peeces w:ch//

//were for the accompt of thother defd:t William Porter & forty six peeces & halfe a peece for acc:t of ffrancis Johnson And this defd:t further saith that hee landeth alsoe at Plymouth foure=//

//parcells w:ch contained two hundred thirty foure peeces of callicoes for & at the request of John ?Carteright w:ch this defd:t bought for him the said John ?Carteright in the East Indies of inhabitants//

//there not being of the English nation & this defd:t did land likewise at Plymouth by the order of Thomas Tomlins one other defd:t for whose account they were eight pcells containing=//

//certaine paintings & five or six peeces of callicoes or thereabout, w.ch were landed at the Custome house of the Citty of London & were veiwed (sic) by the Companies officers, All the aforesd//

//parcells being one hundred & ??twelve & certaine callicoes eight thousand six hundred twenty five peeces & noe more to this defd:ts knowledge which were all this defd:t landed or//

//caused to bee landed at Plymouth or in any other port or place in England his ma:ties duties being paid for the same And this defd:t acknowledgeth that Ambrose Salsberrie//

//did tell him this defd:t that hee had put a board the East India merchant in the East Indies a small bale of callicoes consigned to his brother but this defd:t ??nevr saw the same aboard or//

//such landed yet hath heard it is in the Comptts possession & hath likewise bin tould by the Governo:r of Saintellina (sic) that hee did put aboard the East India merchant two parcells of callicoes//

//but this defs:t knowes not what is become of them yet hath heard they are likewise in the compllts possession And further this defd:t doth acknowledge that hee brought home some//

//few small tokens some of w:ch this defd:t beleives were callicoes but could not containe above five or six peeces And this defd:t saith that hee brought home noe callicoes for//

//the account of any of the caompanies factors in the Indies to his this defd:t knowledge But this defd:t verily beleiveth that there were callicoes brought home by some others//

//of the ships companie ??besides thother defd:t Porter but the quantity this defd:t knowes not And further this defd:t saith hee was not imployed by the owners of the shipp to//
