Notes

(1) Sir James Oxinden became a member of the Committee of Kent, "for execution of severall Ordinances of Parliament" by an Ordinance of June 1st, 1643. Sir Thomas Peyton, M.P. for Sandwich since Oct. 1640, was summoned before Commons on 11/05/1643 for imprisonment and sequestration. Probably he had taken part in the Kent Rising of 1643, defeated at Faversham.
