in this deponents estimate damnified by the interruption of the Dutch as aforesaid<br />
and they have also suffered losse in demorage of their<br />
ship (she being forced to stay there longer than she needed to have<br />
done) for twelve moneths at eight pound sterling Per day (?which]<br />
summe the said Company were and are by Charterparty bound to paye<br />
unto her owners) to the value of 2920 ''li'' . sterling or thereabouts<br />
so that the whole losse which the said Company have sustained by the<br />
Dutch their hindering the ''Advice'' from going into Bantam, and<br />
interrupting her in her trade as aforesaid amounts to the val[?ue]<br />

ther saith that had not the ''Dragon'' been hindered by the Dutch<br />
as aforesaid, but suffered to goe into Bantam and other places<br />

and probably would have taken in and brought thence for the<br />
Companies account 448000 ''lb'' . of pepper English weight Which<br />
would have yielded the said Company at London (to which port<br />
the same was designed) and produced them at twelve pence [?sterling]<br />
per pound, the summe of twenty two thousand foure hundred<br />
pounds sterling or thereabouts, out of which summe the prime cost of<br />
the said pepper amounting at 3 ''d''. per pounds (the usuall and<br />
current price of pepper then there as this deponent hath credibly<br />
heard) to the summe of 5600 ''li''. sterling. And the freight of the same<br />
at two pence halfe penny (or thereabouts) per pound amounting<br />
to 4666 ''li''. 13 ''s''. 4 ''d''. or thereabouts. And the Custome thereof at<br />
two pence per pound (five per Cent abated) amounting to 3546 [''li'' GUTTER]<br />
13 ''s''. 3 ''d''. And the Algier duty (being the tenth part of the said<br />
Custome) amounting to 354 ''li''. 13 ''s''. 4d. (which are all the Charges that<br />
were to have been paid for the said pepper except some small charges for Cartage and [XXX XX]) amounting [XXX]<br />
to 14168 ''li''. sterling; being abated and deducted there<br />
remains the summe of 8232 ''li''. In which summe (or thereabouts)<br />
he saith the said Company have suffered damage besides other<br />
damage for demorage of the said shipp 12 moneths longer then she<br />
needed to have stayed at seven pounds sterling per diem (being the summe<br />
which the said Company were and are bound by Charter Party to pay to her owners<br />
to the value of 2555 ''li''. sterling so that he judgeth their losse to be<br />
the whole (by meanes of the Dutch their interruption of the ''Dragon''<br />
her trade as aforesaid) 10787 ''li''. sterling or thereabouts. And the [?losse]<br />
