Editorial history

13/08/12: CSG, created page

Purpose of this page

This page will provide visual examples of letter combinations which are tricky for transcribers. The examples will be drawn from digital images of various HCA record series, 1650-1669

Possible letter combinations to illustrate

  • "wh" (as in "who"; which"; "where")

  • "rs" (in a contraction) (as in "Com:rs", where "rs" could be mistaken for "er", confusing singular and plural)
