1. The same day. CENTRE HEADING

3. Josias Pickles of Plimouth Merchant, aged 25 yeeres
4. thereabouts sworne and exámined.
5. To the first Interrogatorie hee saith and deposeth hee well knew and
6. was part owner of the shipp the Judastria arlate in her last
7. voyage wherein shee was at Bourdeaux, whense they saith shee
8. was to retourne to Plimouth. And otherwise hee cannot depose.
9. To the second third and fourth Interrogatories hee saith and deposeth
10. that hee well knoweth the interrogated George Barrard and of
11. Plimouth Merchant, and saith the said Mr Barrard was at
12. Plimouth a part freighter of the said shipp for the said voyage
13. to goe from Plimouth to Bourdeaux and back againe for Plimouth
14. namely shee was freighted by him and John Gubbs of Plimouth
15. merchant by Charter partie, wherein shee was said to be
16. freighted for their service or Imployment, and they two only as
17. freighters signed the Charter partie, which hee knoweth being
18. acquainted with the affreightment and seeing the said Charter
19. partie when it was soe signed. And besides hee saith that
20. the said shipp going to Saint Ives in Cornwalll to take in her
21. outwards lading of Pilchards for Bourdeaux, the said Mr
22. Burrard sent Anthony Smith his factor from Plimouth
23. to Saint Ives to see to the said lading, and for theise reasons
24. this deponent conceiveth and beleeveth that the said shipps
25. homewards lading was in part belonging to him the said Mr
26. Burrard; which home wards lading as this deponent hath bin
27. informed by some of the said shipps company was wine
28. brandewine and prunes amounting in all to twenty three XXXXX GUTTER
29. or thereabouts, and was taken in at Bourdeaux, and that in
30. the said shipps retourne thense for Plimouth, shee was met
31. with and forcibly seized and with the said lading carried by
32. an Ostend man of warr (which soe seized her) to Ostend, and GUTTER
33. soe the said shipp and goods were and are utterly lost. And
34. otherwise hee cannot depose, not being in the voyage./
