To the 13th hee saith hee was not a wittnes to the bill of sale
interrogated, And further saith that as hee hath heard the said Boyer was
built above 20ty yeares since att S[?o]rdam in Holland, by or for Peter
Johnson Catt in Hamborowe And that the interrogated Abraham Stockman
and Company have since bought the same./

The answ[?a]r of the foresaid William Shears to the Interrogatories.

To the first Interrogatorie hee saith and deposeth that hee carried out in the said
shipp the voyage in question betwixt thirtie and fourtie pounds worth of goods
in cloth and sutes of clothes, and was to paie about 30 s freight for the said goods
being contained in one chest, amountinge in bulke not to above halfe a tonne
which freight hee is to allowe upon accompt to the freighters or imployers of
the said shipp, and hee this examinate brought home for his owne accompt
proper 2[??1] hogsheads of tobacco, for which hee is to pay freight 25 li after
5 li per tonne to the said freighters. And saith that the interrogated LLewellin,
Ba[?man] and Mackerell carried or sent out goods in wines, cloth, linnen
and woollen, haberdasarie, [?groceria]. Ironware and other goods to the valew
of 500 li sterling or thereabouts for their owne accompt, and had brought
home the said voyage for their accompt betwixt 120 and 130 hogsheads
of tobaccoe. Besides his this deponents father Abraham Sheares
had in the said shipp out ward bound for his accompt 400 li pounds worth
of godds in such like commodities as aforesaid as linnen and other
English goods, and had f[?ourtie] hogsheads of tobaccoe amounting to
tenn tonns, brought home in the said shipp, And otherwise referring
himselfe to his foregeoing deposition made to the allegation in this cause hee cannot
answer. saving there were severall other goods carried in the said shipp
both outwards and homewards for severall other persons, the names
whereof hee remembreth not.

To the second hee saith that hee sawe all such goods as were carried
out and brought home in the said shipp for the accompt of the said LLewellin,
Ba[?man] and Mackerell opened and viewed the same at the time of the
unlading thereof, in the presence of diverse of the shipps
company as the cooper, and others, and saith there was not any of the
tobaccoes brought home d[?rie] trotten that hee knoweth of, saving about
foure or five hogsheads of this deponents owne tobaccoes soe brought home
were drie rotten, and hee beleeveth there were ohers of other m[?a]ns
alsoe drie rotten, and hee beleevet there were others of other mans
alsoe drie rotten, but hee doth not remember that hee hath said or
told the same to any before this present.
