  • Replace 'This is the footnote text' with the footnote you wish to add, using the format: first name, surname, title, (place of publication, date of publication), page or folio number
  • Save the page

Transcription

a Wittnes sworne and examined saith and deposeth
by Vertue of his oath, videlicet

To the 7th article of the said Allegation hee saith and deposeth, That upon or about
the seaventh day of August last past as this deponent now remembreth, this deponent
being in the ship the William and James of Ipswich, departed with and in
the same from Winterton roade bound for New Castle together with some other
English shipps, amongst whom according to common report the ship the dove
then was, and saith the said shipps the night ensueing after the said day of their
departure from Winterton roade aforesaid, and toward the morning of the
ensueing day passed over the place or tract of Sea commonly knowne by the
name of the Well And further hee cannot depose-/

To the 10th hee saith hee hath never heard or understood anything from the
arlate Cable and Companie to the effect arlate. And further cannot
depose-/

Upon the rest hee is not examined by direction of the producent./

To the Interrogatories:- [CENTRE HEADING]

To the first Interrogatorie hee saith hee cometh to declare what hee knoweth
in this Cause at the request of the producent, and hath had 12 d for his
charges, and otherwise negatively:-

To the second hee saith hee hath seene the ship or Vessell the dove in question
severall times, and in severall places, but remembreth not particularly when
or where, And otherwise negatively.
