Transcription a Wittnes sworne and examined saith and dea Wittnes sworne and examined saith and deposeth<br /> by Vertue of his oath, videlicet To the 7th article of the said Allegation hee saith and deposeth, That upon or about<br /> the seaventh day of August last past as this deponent now remembreth, this deponent<br /> being in the ship the ''William and James'' of Ipswich, departed with and in<br /> the same from Winterton roade bound for New Castle together with some other<br /> English shipps, amongst whom according to common report the ship the ''dove''<br /> then was, and saith the said shipps the night ensueing after the said day of their<br /> departure from Winterton roade aforesaid, and toward the morning of the<br /> ensueing day passed over the place or tract of Sea commonly knowne by the<br /> name of the Well And further hee cannot depose-/ To the 10th hee saith hee hath never heard or understood anything from the<br /> arlate Cable and Companie to the effect arlate. And further cannot<br /> depose-/ Upon the rest hee is not examined by direction of the producent./ To the Interrogatories:- [CENTRE HEADING] To the first Interrogatorie hee saith hee cometh to declare what hee knoweth<br /> in this Cause at the request of the producent, and hath had 12 ''d'' for his<br /> charges, and otherwise negatively:- To the second hee saith hee hath seene the ship or Vessell the ''dove'' in question<br /> severall times, and in severall places, but remembreth not particularly when<br /> or where, And otherwise negatively.
