Transcription

Baldwin and Anthony Boards about 6 yeares last, Maturin Pellicot
about eight yeares, Giles Marseilles about eight yeares, Thomas
Bowse about seaven yeares, and daniel demassiers about five yeares last
and saith they have bin for all the said times Inhabitants of Amsterdam
and subiects of the States of the United Netherlands, and merchants of good
accompt and qualitie and such as for their owne accompt and adventure
use to trade and traffique betwixt Amsterdam and Saint Mallo's and other
places of ffrance, which hee knoweth for that hee this deponent for
the space of eight or nine yeares (ended about six monethes since)
lived in Amsterdam and was there imployed in merchandizing, and
thereby came to take notice of the said persons and their dealing, being
acquainted with most of them and having bin at their houses and received
moneyes and bought goods of them as merchants wherein hee was imployed
by his this deponents father Isaac Badlow a merchant lately living
there, and saith that when this deponent came last from Amsterdam
which was about 6 monethes since the said Jaques Casteline was
dwelling on the Heeres Gracht, Mathew Swoke on the old [?turf] market
where the producent Lewes howen (whom this deponent hath
knowne about two yeares) was then alsoe living, Baldwin and
Anthony Boards on the [?fflewel] Burghwal, daniel demassiers on
the Princes Gracht Giles [Marseilles] im the [?Warmer] straete,
Maturin Polli[?net] and Thomas [?Bourle] on the [?Cuyle]. And
for dwellers in and merchants of Amsterdam and subiects
of the said States of the United Netherlands hee saith the said persons
abovenamed have bin and are commonly accompted and reputed. And
otherwise hee cannot depose.

To the fourth article hee saith hee alsoe well knoweth the arlate
Abraham Maysert and hath soe donne about 8 or 9 yeares last
past, during which time hee saith the said Abraham hath lived in
Amsterdam and hath bin for all the said time a merchant of good
accompt and subiect of the States of the United Netherlands
and a Burger of Amsterdam this deponent seeing him march in
the Burgers watch, which none but Burgers are permitted to doe,
and this deponent was there well acquainted with him, and for
such as aforesaid hee saith the said Abraham was and is comonly
accompted and reputed. And otherwise hee cannot depose.

To the 5th hee cannot depose.
