Bowse about seaven yeares, and daniel demassiers about five yeares last<br />
and saith they have bin for all the said times Inhabitants of Amsterdam<br />
and subiects of the States of the United Netherlands, and merchants of good<br />
accompt and qualitie and such as for their owne accompt and adventure<br />
use to trade and traffique betwixt Amsterdam and Saint Mallo's and other<br />
places of ffrance, which hee knoweth for that hee this deponent for<br />
the space of eight or nine yeares (ended about six monethes since)<br />
lived in Amsterdam and was there imployed in merchandizing, and<br />
thereby came to take notice of the said persons and their dealing, being<br />
acquainted with most of them and having bin at their houses and received<br />
moneyes and bought goods of them as merchants wherein hee was imployed<br />
by his this deponents father Isaac Badlow a merchant lately living<br />
there, and saith that when this deponent came last from Amsterdam<br />
which was about 6 monethes since the said Jaques Casteline was<br />
dwelling on the Heeres Gracht, Mathew Swoke on the old [?turf] market<br />
where the producent Lewes howen (whom this deponent hath<br />
knowne about two yeares) was then alsoe living, Baldwin and<br />
Anthony Boards on the [?fflewel] Burghwal, daniel demassiers on<br />
the Princes Gracht Giles [Marseilles] im the [?Warmer] straete,<br />
Maturin Polli[?net] and Thomas [?Bourle] on the [?Cuyle]. And<br />
for dwellers in and merchants of Amsterdam and subiects<br />
of the said States of the United Netherlands hee saith the said persons<br />
abovenamed have bin and are commonly accompted and reputed. And<br />
otherwise hee cannot depose.

To the fourth article hee saith hee alsoe well knoweth the arlate<br />
Abraham Maysert and hath soe donne about 8 or 9 yeares last<br />
past, during which time hee saith the said Abraham hath lived in<br />
Amsterdam and hath bin for all the said time a merchant of good<br />
accompt and subiect of the States of the United Netherlands<br />
and a Burger of Amsterdam this deponent seeing him march in<br />
the Burgers watch, which none but Burgers are permitted to doe,<br />
and this deponent was there well acquainted with him, and for<br />
such as aforesaid hee saith the said Abraham was and is comonly<br />
accompted and reputed. And otherwise hee cannot depose.

To the first hee saith hee is an English man, borne in yorkshire,<br />
and hath lived for the most part of theise tenn yeares last in<br />
Amsterdam and hath bin in that space somtimes to and againe in England,<br />
and that hee hath noe relation to the producents nor interest in this businesse<br />
nor was in the voyage in question.
