Thomas Marriott of Limehouse in the parish of Stepney
Mariner aged 569. yeares or thereabouts a Wittnes produced
sworne and examined saith as followeth videlicet/

23. To the first Article or position of the said Libell hee saith, that in the moneth of
24. May June July and August 1655. last past the arlate Nathaniel Marriott
25. was sole Owner and Proprietor of the shipp the Aprill shower arlate and of her
26. tackle apparrell and furniture, And for and as such the said Nathaniel Marriott
27. was generally accompted reputed and taken, Which hee knoweth, for that hee this depo:nent
28. being father to the said Nathaniel hath had and hath as hee beleeveth on his Custodie a
29. writeing under the hand of one of the Officer of the Commissoner for prize goods in Ireland
30. importing the said Nathaniele payment for 1. part of the said shipp, by him bought of
31. them and ˹in˺ Ireland and for that the said Nathaniel bought the 3/4. parts more of one
32. Samuel Barber here at London, this depo:nent being present at the buying thereof

34. To the second Article and Charterpartie annexed and now showed to this exarate hee
35. saith, that hee this depo:nent was present when the said Agreement of Charterpartie
36. was made between the arlate Bowtill and Jago, and the produ:cent in this Cause
37. being the Chaterpartie now showne unto this depo:nent and signed sealed and delivered
38. by the said Bowtill and Jago in the pressure of his depo:nent and the Wittnesses
39. whose names to the said Charterpartie were and are subscribed, And further
40. referring to the said schedule or Charterpartie, hee saith hee cannot depose
41. otherwise or more than that the Contents thereof were and are reall and true, and
42. soe hath and done at therein is conteyned./

43. To the third hee saith that upon and according to the said Contract of Charterpartie
44. the said Nathaniel Marriott did fitt furnish and prepare the said shipp the Mayeflower
45. Aprill shower with all necessarie Tackle apparell and furniture. Virtuall and
46. Mariners requisite for her intended voyage, and proceeded and went to Ireland from
47. whence shee returned to Dartmouth the 22:th day of August 1655. last past being
48. then fitted and accommodated to undertake her further voiage for Alicant or Civita
49. Vechia for the said imployers service according to Charierpartie, and immediately after such
50. her arrivall at Dartmouth this depon:ent and Roger XXXX Master on the behalf of
51. the said Nathaniel Marriot repaired to the said Thomas Jagoe at Dartmouth and
52. acquainted him with the said shipps arrivall and readines to take in the goods
53. of the said Jagoe and Bowtill according to the said Charterpartie. and the deponent
54. and Roger Hall master of the said shipp did in the said moneth on the behalfe
55. aforesaid seveuall times presse and importune the said Jagoe to lade the goods of
56. him and his said partner Bowtill and to dispatch away the said shipp upon her
