After tender of my Best service to any of yo:e Comands y:e Inclosed from S:r Geo: Smith came recomended to mee yesterday to forward to yo:r Worp:s Hands, in y:e absence of M:r Gam:a Nightingale who tooke his passage on y:e great Eagle our Genrall Shipp for Eng:d which departed 50: Dayes since; By this tyme wish her well neare home , I am glad of y:e opportunity, (tho á stranger) to accquaint yo:r Worp:e notwithstanding M:r Nightingales departure you may rest confident of an humble & ffaithfull serv:t here, wishing my selfe soo fortunate, to shew y:t in effort, w:ch I heere putt in writeing.

Our Consull Lanoy under whose packett I intend these, now in hast sends newes wee yesterday heard from Xdome (sic) in breife; y:e Pirates of Algeir have Broken their peace made w:th our gratious King, & Taken 30: sayle o:r Merch:t Shipps (noo less from y:e Dutch,) But his Majesty; (as well said, fflemings) hath a ffleete (sic) a Broad w:ch hope will soo Curb said Pirates this ensueing summer, y:t feare, not theire obedience or Complyance w:th theire Last Articles, may for y:e future oblidge theire Conformity, otherwise there will bee but small encouradgm:t to drive y:e Lev:t trade By lres of y:e 20:th March, from England have advice , & tis y:e Comon talke, & writeing of all, a great probability of warre w:th y:e Dutch, for y:e affront doe to his Maj:tis Shipps in India besides other reasons to fall out w:th them what y:e soone will bee after y:e Parliament have
