Transcription

that hee should serve in the said ship, and that
they or some of them (as hee beleeveth)
promised to give unto him a 100 li and upwards
and under the said Conditions and hope of the
said Gratuitie this rendent did accept of the
mastership of the said ship and to goe the
voyage in question and otherwise hee doth
not beleeve the pretensed position to be true
in any part

To the third pretensed position hee answereth
that (as hee humblely conceaveth) hee is not
bound by law to make any answer into this pretensed
position espetially to soe much therein as
concerned the pretensed Plantation therein
mentioned yet for satisfaction of this Court
hee answereth and beleeveth that the furnishings
of the ship [?XXXth] the voyage in question, and
the hire of the servants arlate, for the
plantation arlate and the provision and
[BLANK IN MANUSCRIPT] of victualls arlate did
as hee beleeveth, besides the freight arlate
Cost the arlate Rowland Wilson
Maurice Thompson John Wood and companye
the summe of one thousand seaven hundred
pounds sterling and noe more as hee
beleeveth and otherwise hee doth not beleeve
this pretensed position to be true in
any part.
