To the fourth he saith and deposeth that the aforesayd Christian
Cloppenbergh bought att the Port Santa Maria in Spaine the
arlate three butts of sack more one marked with the first
marke in the margent. another of the second marke in the
margent, and another of the third marke in the margent, and
putt the same aboard the shipp Salvador in the month of October
aforesayd att Cadiz. And saith that after the same was so laden
the arlate Mariners of the shipp Salvadores Company in the
presence of this deponent contracted for and bought the sayd three
butts of wyne of and from the sayd Christian Cloppenbergh. And saith
that the sayd three butts of wyne were to be transported
from Cadiz to Ostend for the Accompt and Risko of the sayd Mariners
and were there to be disposed of by them, and saith they were
and are the proper goods of the sayd Mariners as the true and
lawfull Owners thereof for the reasons aforesayd And further
hee cannot depose.

To the sixth and seventh he saith he hath knowne the arlate Christian
Cloppenbergh for theis eight yeares and saith he is by common
reputation a Hamburgher, and a Burgher and subiect of the
free State of Hamburgh where he hath his wife and family and
hath knowne the arlate John Roopke for theis six yeares during
which tyme he hath lived in Sevill in Spaine as a merchant
stranger, and is by common repute a Hamburgher borne and a
subiect of the sayd free State of Hamburgh. And otherwise he
cannot depose.
