Bruet the only mab ubtrusted by the said Mr Orton with the said
shipp, who in the said Ortons absence goeth as Master of her, and saith that
hee conceaveth the said Orton to bee such Master and quarter part owner
of her because hee hath served as a labourer aboard her
divers tymes within these 12 monethes and hee and others labourers
have had and Receaved moneys divers tymes from the said Orton
and hath seen him the said Orton come aboard the said shipp Consent when shee
lay near the tower wharfe and Command all things as master
and saw him once locke upp the hatches and take the boate
awaye, And further saith that hee hath heard thereforesaid
ffrancis Bruet say the said Mr Orton was as much an owner as any
of the rest of the owners. And further to this article cannot depose.

To the second article of the said allegation hee saith and deposeth
that hee never understood saw or heard that the arlate Burges
Pope or hooton dureing all the tyme arlate have
paid any summe or summes of money unto the arlate Mr Orton
for the settinge out of the said vessell, nor have paid any moneys
for Masters or mariners wages victualls servants, or
Labourers. But knoweth that the said Mr Orton hath paid
as hee hath before deposed. And further cannot depose./

To the third hee referreth himselfe to the acts of this court
and further cannot depose./

To the fourth hee saith hee cannot depose,.

John Merry of Saint Anns Aldersgate Cittizen
and Leatherseller aged 55 yeares or thereabouts
a witnes sworne and Examined deposeth and saith
as followeth videlicet./

To the first article of the said allegation hee saith and deposeth
that this deponent hath knowne the arlate Orton and the arlate
vessell the Content any tyme this yeare and halfe, and saith
during all that tyme the said Orton of this deponents knowledge
hath commanded as Master of the said vessell Content, and hath {?bin}
