Transcription

Owner and Proprietor of the said wynes and syrrupps abovespecified
and for and as such was and is commonly accompted reputed and taken, The
premisses this deponent saith hee well knoweth to be true, for the severall reasons
hereafter deduced, That is to say for that the said producent at the tome
predeposed and about a yeare before being exiled and banished by publique
Edict out of the United Netherlands, and then sojourning in fflanders did
especially entrust and employ this deponent in the management of his said
producents Merchandizing affaires, and particularly in and about the premisses
insoemuch that this deponent upon the arrivall of the said goods in the said shipp
from Mallega was to have received the same for and on the behalfe of the
said producents and to have disposed of or converted the same to the said
producents proper and best benefitt, according to such order and direction as
hee this deponent shouldf upon the said shipp and goods arrivall have received from
the said producent. And in order to such the trust by the said producent
reposed in this deponent hee saith, That hee this deponent shortly after the
lading od the said goods and Merchandizes aboard the said shipp as predeposed
received a letter of advice from the said Joacheim Alerts and david Brander
together with an Invoice or factory and bill of lading for the said goods
marked as aforesaid, intimating that the said factors had soe laden the said
wynes and syrrupps for the proper accompt and upon the adventure of the said
producent and that they had consigned and ordered the same to be delivered
to this deponent as Agent for the said producent, and for his the said producents
proper accompt, as being the returne or part of returne of goods wares and
Merchandizes, and freight which they had recived of and from the
said producent upon severall other Voiages by the said shipp performed
into those parts of Spaine. And further saving his subsequent deposition
hee saith hee cannot depose:-/

To the third hee saith, That the said Daniel Thyson being in the yeare 1651
banished out of the United Netherlands by publique Edict and sojourning in
fflanders did in or about the moneth of October in the yeare 1652 new
style become Burgher of Ostend, and was there admitted and received
as a free Burgher of and in that place, and consequently then became
a Subiect of his Catholique Majestie and had and hath all and any
the franchises to such a Burgher and Subject belonging, and hath had
his wife and children there ever since his said admission, which this
deponent well knoweth as being brother to the said producent, and well
and perfectly acquainted with his said exile and admission, and having
seene and perused the said producents Burgher briefe, which hee had and
hath to the effect predeposed under the Seale of the Port of Ostend, which is
well knowne to this deponent And thereupon this deponent is fully assured
of the truth of this his deposition. And further cannot depose:
