Transcription

To the second article of the sayd allegation he deposeth
and saith that he this deponent hath knowne familiarly
the arlate Melchior Aranguren for about fower
yeares last past, and that by reason of the familiarilty
and freindshipp between them, he doth very well know
that the sayd Aranguren and the said Lopez de Apatras
hath helsd communication and correspondence in the way
of trade and merchandizing for about three yeares
last past, The premisses he deposeth for that he the
sayd Aranguren hath shewne and communicated unto him
the deponent divers Letters within the said time which
the sayd de Apatris had sent unto him about and
concerning his affaires and negotiations, And further
he cannot depose.

To the third article, he deposeth and saith that about Christmas
last past and since, he this deponent did see and had
communicated unto him by the sayd Melchior Aranguren
divers Letters which he had received from the said de Baud
and De La ffitt from Roane, By which Letters they
the sayd de Baud and De La ffitt did acknowledge that
they had received to and for the accompt of the said
Lopez de Apatris the producent about 800 pound weight
of Redd wooll and that the same was in their hands and
custody for his the sayd de Apatris his Account, And
that the sayd de Baud and de La ffitt did by every of
their said Letters by them sent unto the said Aranguren
as Corresponden of the said Lopez de Apatris acquaint
him how the prices of Woolls went in ffrance, and that
(as he beleiveth) every pound of the said wooll was then well
worth about 20 s sterling, And further to the said article
he cannot depose

To the fourth and fifth article sof the said allegation
he deposeth and saith That by reason of the freinshipp and
intimacy between the said Melchior de Aranguren and
him the deponent, the deponent was from time to time made
acquainted with, and had imparted unto him the Letters
which he the sayd Aranguren received from the sayd Lopez de
Apatris his affaires, And he deposeth that the said Melchior
did communicate unto him this deponent a Letter in or about March last past or
the beginning of Aprill the which he had receaved from the
sayd De Baud and De La ffitt, wherin and wherby they
did suggest (as a very good way in their iudgement) the
selling of the said woolls and the investing the
proceed therof into Linnens, and did by the said Letter advise
him the said Aranguren that there was there then a hollands shipp [?a]
