downewards on both sides, and graved her with black stuff, and brought
on six navell hoods on each side under the girdling of tenn foote long peece
and fastned them well to the stemme, and did lay them sufficienty with
tarr and haire and made them square, and alsoe newe sheathed the said
shipp from the keele to the girdling with good sound firr boards fore and
aft, and did lay the same very well with tarr and haire and nailed
it bery thick with nailes and made it square, and then cawked and
[?graved] the said shipp soe high as the said sheathing with white
stuff, And the said Tailer provided all the timber and planck, boards,
nailes, tarr, haire and all other materialls and workmanshipp in and
about the same, All which hee knoweth to be true because hee this deponent
was then servant to the said Tailer, and wrought in the same yard
during all the said time that the said worke was in doing, and thereby
sawe and tooke notice of all the particulars aforesaid. And otherwise
hee cannot depose.

To the third article hee saith and deposeth that the said workemanshipp
and materialls were and are well worth one hundred and fifty pounds,
and soe much the said Tailer deserveth to receive for the same, by the
skill and experience which this deponent hath in shipp Carpentrie, which hee
hath used and exercised for eight yeares last and upwards. And otherwise hee
cannot depose, saving the said hubberley the master came severall times and
viewed the said worke as it was in doing, and approved thereof.

To the 4th and 5th articles hee saith hee cannot depose, not being privie
to the doing the worke or furnishing the timber and materialls arlate.

To the sixth and seaventh hee saith hee cannot depose.

To the last hee saith that the said Tailer hath by not being paid his
money for his said worke and stuffe suffered dammage, but how much
hee cannot depose.

Richard Harris of Sandwich in Kent Mariner
where he was borne, and hath lived almost all his
life time, aged about 37 yeares, a wittnes produced and
sworne and being examined he deposeth as followeth.

To the first article of the sayd Libell he deposeth and
saith That he the deponent hath knowne the arlate John
Grant the producent for many yeares past, and that by
