lived and bin a merchant in Amsterdam, where this deponent hath bin severall times
with him, and saith the said david useth to trade betwixt Amsterdam and ffrance
and Ireland, and further that the said david is a batchelour, aged about 26 yeeres
and liveth in Amsterdam only as a merchant stranger, And otherwise hee cannot
depose.

To the Interrogatories. [CENTRE HEADING]

To the first hee saith that hee hath lived in London about two yeares last and
before that in Galloway about 15 monethes, and before that in Amsterdam and Zealand
about two yeares, and before that (since the yeare 1648) [XXX]ing to and [?againe] upon
merchandize betwixt Spaine, ffrance and holland, and that hee was borne at Galloway
and is of Kinne afarr off to the said david Kirwan, and otherwise negatively.

To the second hee referreth himselfe to his foregoeing deposition and cannot otherwise depose

To the 3. 4. 5. 6 and 7 hee cannot depose not knowing the shipp nor ought of the
voyage in question, or any thing concerning the lading.

Examined upon the foresaid allegation.

Gregory Marten of Galloway in Ireland Merchant, aged 32 yeares
or thereabouts sworne and examined.

To the first and second articles of the said allegation hee saith and deposeth that this
deponent being borne and living in Galloway in Ireland neere the dwelling of
the father of the producent david Kir[?man] there, well knoweth the said david to be
a native of that place and a subiect of this Commonwealth, and knewe him brought
up and educated there by his father Edmund Kir[?man], and saith that for some
space last the said david hath lived at Amsterdam where this deponent was
with him about 7 or 8 moneths since, and saith hee is a batchelour and liveth
there only as a factor and merchant stranger, and is a yonge man of about
25 or 26 yeares of age, and for such as aforesaid hee was and is commonly
accompted and reputed; And otherwise hee cannot depose.

To the Interrogatories. [CENTRE HEADING]

To the first hee saith that being a batchelour hee this deponent
as a merchant hath for the most part of the space interrogated spent his time
in voyaging betwixt holland, Spain, England and ffrance and Ireland
staying somewhile in one of those countreys and some while in another, and
saith hee is of some kinne to the producent but in what degree hee knoweth
not, and otherwise negatively saving his foregoeing deposition.

To the second hee referreth himselfe to his foregoeing deposition and cannot
otherwise depose.

To the third, 3. 5. 6. and 7 hee cannot depose not knoweing as hee
saith ought of the shipp, voyage or lading in question.
