Transcription

saving the last payment being 9 li, and the said Marcus de la Rumbida
by his letters (which this deponent hath seene) promised to repay the same
to the said fernandez. And otherwise hee cannot depose.

To the twelveth hee saith that within the foresaid time the said Mr
fernandez sent to the said [?Sarircolea] one Skreene and three beaver
hatts, worth 29 li 15 s sterling, which this deponent or booke keeper
aforesaid by order of the said fernandez charged to the account of the
said Rumbida, and therefore hee beleeveth they were sent by the order
and direction of the said Rumbida, and that hee undertooke to
repay the said fernandez for them. And otherwise hee cannot depose.

To the 13th article hee saith that
this deponent hath
seene an accompt made up in the yeare 1644 betwixt the said
fernandez and the said Rumbida who was then in this citie,
wherein the said Rumbida chardged himself as debitor to Mr fernandez
in the summe of 3000 li sterling as by rorder of the said Rumbida
invested in ffrance by Antonio dias ffrances in linnen cloth
sent for Spaine and there received by his order in the
yeares 1642 or 1643 or thereabouts. And this deponent beleeveth that
the said fernandez hath since paid the said summe to the said Antonio
dias ffrances, having since seene generall releases from the said ffrances to the
said fernandez of and from all accompts. And otherwise hee cannot depose.

To the 14th hee saith that from the yeare 1644 to the yeare 1647
the said Antonio ffernandez prosecuted
a sute on the behalfe of the said Rumebida and by his order touching
certaine silver brought from the West Indies to England, and
was therein at greate charge and expence of money, And otherwise
hee cannot depose.

To the 15th hee saith that by the use and custome amongest merchants
there is [?done] and ought to be paid unto the said Antonio fernandez
for provision in buying and sending the said goods schedulated
the summe of two pounds sterling per cent for every hundred
pounds of the said moneys, And otherwise hee cannot depose.

To the 16th hee saith that in the yeare 1644 the arlate Joseph
de Yriarte and company drew a bill of exchange for 210 li sterling
upon the said Rumbida being then in England, and hee the said Rumbida
gave order to Mr ffernandez to pay the same, which hee did accordingly
of this deponents knowledge being booke keeper as aforesaid
and seeing the letters written in that behalfe. And otherwise hee cannot
depose.

To the 17th hee saith that the said Antonio ffernandez Caravajall
by order and direction of the said Rumbida and for his accompt hath
paid and satisfied for assurance of part of the foresaid goods
