of the hurt receaved from the Anchor of the James and Martin as aforesayd
and by reason of the neglect of the Master and Company of the James and Martin (whoe laye at Anchor without any boy and
boy along the river of Thames almost quite watershott as aforesayd
And further hee cannot depose/

To the 20th hee cannot depose./

To the 21th hee saith hee referreth him selfe to the Registrie of this
Court and further cannot depose

To the 22th saving his foregoeing deposition hee cannot further depose./

To the 23th hee saith hee referreth him selfe to his foregoeing deposition and
to the lawe and further hee cannot depose/

To the 24th hee cannot depose saveing hee saith hee beleeveth the arlate
Stafford and Company are subiects of this Commonwealth and subiect to
the authority of this Court./

To the last hee saith his foregoeing deposition is true/

Isaack Alebury of Ipswich in the County of Suffolke
Shipp wright about 31 yeares or thereabouts a wittnes sworne
and examined saith and deposeth as followeth videlicet/

To the first hee saith hee knoweth not the arlate Phillipp Stafford personally and therefore cannot
of his certayne knowledge depose to this article but saith hee hath heard that the sayd
Stafford was Master and Commander of the arlate shipp the James and Martyn
the tyme arlate And further hee cannot depose

To the 2 article of the sayd libell hee saith that hee this deponent hath bin one of
the Company of the Imployment ever since ffebruary last past during all which tyme
the arlate John Bayly went Master of her and was and is commonly accompted
to be Master of her and part owner of her videlicet of a sixteenth and a two and thirtith part
of her and of her ladeing of Coles brought in her this last voyage to this Port of
London And further hee cannot depose/

To the 3 hee saith hee hath often heard and observed it to be a custome that shipps
rideing at Anchor in any River ought to have a boy fastned thereto to give
notice to other shipps that they may avoide falling or setting upon one an others
Anchors And referring him selfe to the lawes customes orders and Rules of
the Court of Admiralty hee cannot further depose to this article

To the 4th hee saith that hee this deponent being one of the Company and on
board the Imployment well observed and beleeveth others of the sayd shipps companie did observe that the arlate shipp the James and
Martin did ride at anchor neere Execution dock arlate for
all the tyme the Imployment ridd neere the James and Martin happening next before the tyme that the Imployment
fell and sett upon her the James and Martins Anchor without having any boye fastned
