nine Rotolo's, and the other of the bills of lading for the said galls
is for 150 baggs or sacks of galls, which said 150 baggs or sacks of
galls, according to the Invoice for the sae being the other of the
Invoices annexed, containeth of neate Turkish weight tenn thousand
two hundred and fourtie one Rotolos, referring himselfe to the said
bills and Invoices, soe that the said foure hundred and seaventie
baggs of galls mentioned in the said two bills of lading containeth
thirtie thousand three hundred and ninetie Rotolo's, which hee knoweth
having seene the said bills and Invoices and cast up
the contents and amount thereof as aforesaid, And otherwise
hee cannot depose.

To the tenth article hee saith that none of the
Cotton woolls or galls arlate were delivered by the said George
hughes or his appointment to Alderman ffrederick, henry
Chewne and other the parties producent at this port of
London, for hee saith if they had, hee this deponent (living with the
said Alderman ffrederick) must needs have knowne of it, but
saith that according to the advises received by the said Alderman
from his factors at Ligorne, all that were delivered were delivered
at Ligorne or Porta fferrara to George [?Norleigh] the said
producents factor or to some by him appointed, and (as the said
[?Norleigh] alsoe advised,) there were noe more or other delivered then
what the said George [?Norleigh]) he gave a receipt for, which advises
this deponent hath seene living with the said Alderman, and
being his Cash-keeper and accustomed to sea (sic) and peruse the
advises that came to him from his factors abroad, and his booke of entries
of letters sent outwards. And otherwise hee cannot depose.

To the eighteenth article and schedle therein mentioned nowe showne
unto him, (beginning and ending as is arlate) being the second schedule
hee saith and deposeth that the said schedule was sent and came
to the said Alderman from the said [?Norleigh] and company as and
for a true copie of the originall receipt given by the said [?Norleigh]
for all the goods delivered unto him for accompt of the said Alderman
ffrederick and others aforesaid, and was mentioned in the said
[?Norleeyhs] letter (wherein the same came) to be a true copie, and
hee beleeveth the contents of the said schedule
to be true, And otherwise hee cannot depose.

To the 20th article hee saith and deposeth according to advises
received from legorne, the said hughes kept the goods in question in
his hands severall monethes, after they were loaded, and would not
deliver them according to his freighters order, but endeavoured to
leave them in [?XXXXX] hands and to take up [?XXXXX] upon them
by way of [?pawning] them; and that the said [?Norleigh] wasa faine as [?factor] aforesaid
to sue him to get them out of his hands, and expended 120 li sterling
or upwards thereabouts. And saith that the third schedule annexed
beginning and ending as is arlate nowe showne unto him, is the note sent
over hether by way of accompt of the said expenses, and hee beleeveth
the contents thereof to be true. And otherwise hee cannot depose.
