Super allegacone arlata ex parte dicter [?XX]
Tysen et aliem date examinatus

Petrus Bendits de Husem in Holsetia Nauta, ubi habitavit
nativitate sura ibm natus, atatis 29 aut circiter testis

Ad primum arlum dicta allegaconis deponit that at the time of the seizure in
question of the shipp the White Swan afoesaid (which happened about five
weekes since) there were aboard two papers, one whereof hee saith was a
letter delivered unto him this examinate by Christian Peterson one of his
owners living at Husem, directed to one Boatemaker of Rochel, which letter
this deponent upon his arrivall with his said ship at Rochel, delivered to the
said Boatemaker, which letter when the said Boatemaker had opened and read, bad
Peterson to the same effect, namely to lade the said shipp with wine and
brandy for husem upon the said Peterson and other the owners their accompt
and soe one coming into the shipp (when hee received it, to speak with him, hee
the said Boatemaker threw the letter downe upon the table in this deponents
cabbin, and this deponent asking him as hee went out if hee would not
take it with him, hee answered it matters not, saaying I know the contents
and did soe before by other letters, and soe it remained aboard, this deponent
afterwards fogetting to carry it to his house. And saith that the saiid
other paper was an accompt of wages furnished from time to time by the
said Boatemaker to this deponent for his shipps and companies necessarie occasions
in ffrance amounting to three hundred and fiftie gilders or thereabouts, which hee soe advanced
upon the bording being commanded to come aboard the Caper and bring his
papers, hee to his best remembrance carried only those that are now in Court and are now showed unto
him, and through hast left the other two as hee [?XXX ?XXX] in his chest in his Cabbin, with his
key in his chest, and soe hee beleeveth they came to the hands of the said Capers
men that were then come aboard him and commanded in his shipp, or for
ought hee knoweth they may be in the chest still.

Arian Nanickson de ffeure prope husem in holstatia Nauta
aetatis 20 annorum aut circiter, testis.

Ad drum primum arlum deponit that hee was one of the Company of the said
shipp the White Swan at the time of her seizure in question which was
bout five weekes since. And saith that hee this deponent cannot write
or reade, but remembreth that there was a written paper scattered in the ship
by way the ships boy practized to write, and this deponent heard some
of the company that could write and reade say that it was a letter from
Christian Peterson (speaking of Christian Peterson arlate) touching
wine and brandy, to be laded aboard the said shipp, and this paper hee
saith was soe scattered as they were at Charante, but what
became of it afterwards hee saith hee knoweth not. Et alr nescit.
