Biographical synthesis
John Cheshire (b.ca.1634-1637; d.?). Nailor (alt. Nailer, Nayler).
Evidence from High Court of Admiralty
John Cheshire, a twenty-eight year old nailor, deposed on June 19th 1655. He was examined on a libell in the case of "Nicholas Carter against the Releife of London and John Edge and Company".[1]
Nicholas Carter was a blacksmith, and John Cheshire was "his nailor".
John Cheshire deposed again on October 27th, 1660, giving his age as thirty-six and his residence as the parish of Saint Mary Magdalene Bermondsey.[2] The case concerned Nicholas Carter against the ship the House of ffreindship
