IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN I Ellianor Dashwood of Rowden within the parish of Stoqumber in the County of Somersett widdow being weak and sicke in body but of good and perfect memory (God be praised) doe make and ordaine this my last will and Testament in manner and forme following (That is to say)

FIRST I Comend my soule into the hands of Godmy maker hopeing assuredly through the onely merritts of Jesus Christ my Saviour to be made partaker of life Everlasting And I Comend my Body to the Earth whereof it is made

IMPRIMIS I give and bequeath unto Henry Dashwood and William Dashwood my sonns All my right title Estate Termes (?) and Inttrest which I have of in or to All those Three peeces Closes or parcells of Marsh Land with their appurtenances scituate lying and being within the parish of Paulitt in the said County of Somersett and known by the name or names of fforty Acres Gate and Skithages (OR, Skithayes) Joyntly betweene them And if either of my said Sonns shall happen to dye before he comes to and attains the age of one and Twenty yeares Then the part and porcon of him soe dyeing shall remaine and come and be to the Survivor of them

ITEM whereas I lately Contracted and agreed for an Estate to be had of and in a certain peice Close or parcell of Land called Paynes Leazes lying in Cannington in the said County of Somersett And whereas the same is Controverse and desiged to be made good unto me if the same shall by my Executors hereafter named be recovered by Law or otherwise Then I hereby give and bequeath the same unto my said sonne William Dashwood for all the Estate and Terme by me agreed or Contracted for And alsoe in such case onely my will and meaning is And I doe hereby give and bequeath unto my said Sonne William Dashwood The Two peices or parcells of Marsh Land above menconed called Gates (?) and Skerthayes wholly unto him and unto his Executor and assignes during all the Estate and terme I have therein yet to come And my Will And meaning farther is That if Paynes Leazes shall be recovered by law or otherwise as aforesaid Then and in such case onely I give and bequeath all that parcell of land called fforty Acres above menconed unto my said sonn Henry Dashwood wholly for and during All the Estate and Terme I have therein And my will and meaning further is That If paynes Leazes shall be recovered by Law or otherwise as above menconed Then and in such case onely I give and bequeath unto my said sonn William Dashwood the sume of one hundred and fforty pounds being the sume I agreed to pay for a Lease of the Lands called Paynes Leazes But if the same shall not be recovered Then I give and bequeath unto my said sonn William one hundredpounds And unto my said son Henry fforty pounds to be paid unto my Trustees or Executor in Trust hereafter named in ffoure yeares next after my decease To be put out att interest by them or the major part of them for the best advantage of my said sonnes William and Henry untill they attaine their respective Ages of one and Twenty yeares And I doe hereby farther declare my mind and will to be That yearly Rents issues and proffitts of the severall parcells of land above menconed shall be from time to time and att times untill my said sonnes Henry and William shall severally attaine his and their ages of one and Twenty yeares be received and taken by my Trustees or Executor un Trust hereafter named And they to allow unto my said sonns a reasonable maintenance thereout as they in their discretion shall think most fitt And the residue therof imploy or put out for their best Advantage

ITEM I give and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth Dashwood Three hundred pounds to be paid unto her att her age of one and Twenty yeares The same to be put out att Interest by my Trustees or Executors in Trust hereafter named within ffoure yeares next after my decease And the Interest and increase thereof or as much thereof as they or the major part of them shall think convenient shallgoe and be towards her maintenance and Education And I doe farther declare my will and mind to be That my said sonns Henry and William And my said daughter Elizabeth shall at their severall and respective a ages of One and Twenty yeares seale Execute and deliver a generall and lawfull Release and Releases to my Executors hereafter named of all such sume or sumes of money as was or were given unto them or any or either of them in and by the last will and Testament of Elizabteth Dashwood widdow deceased their late Grandmother And I farther declare my will to be that such of my said said Children Henry William and Elizabeth That shall refuse to give a Lawfull Release or discharge of such sume and sumes of mony to them given in and by the said last Will and Testament of Elizabeth Dashwood deceased shall abate and allow for soe much out of his her or their Legacies and sumes of money herein and hereby before given and bequeathed as to either of them for refusing xx as given or bequesthed in and by the last Will and Testament of the said Elizabeth Dashwood

ALL THE REST of my goods and Chattells Rights and Creditts not herein before given or bequeathed (my debts paid and ffunerall Expences discharged I give and bequeath unto my Brother William Row of Cannington in the said County yeoman John Row of Cannington in the said County yeoman Samuell Date (?) of Tolland in the said County Clothier and Morgan Nattett (Nattatt?) of Monksilver in the said County yeoman whome I make the whole and sole Executors of this my Last will and Testament in Trust for and untill my son Robert Dashwood shall accomplish his full age of one and Twenty yeares, Then I here by make Constitute and appoint him the said Robert Dashwood full and whole Executor hereof And further incase my son Robert Dashwood shall happen to dye before he shall accomplish his said age of one and Twenty yeares Then and in such case onely I make constitute and appoint the said William Gore (?) John Row Samuell Date and Morgan Nattett Executors of this my last will and Testament In Trust for and untill my said sonns Henry Dashwood and William Dashwood shall accomplish their full ages of one and Twenty yeares Then I hereby make and appoint them the said Henry Dashwood and William Dashwood full and whole Executors hereof

IN WITNESS whereof I the said Elianor Dashwood have to this my last will and testament contayning Two sheets of paper sett my hand and seale this Twentieth day of July in the yeare One Thousand Six hundred Seaventy and Eight.
