IN THE NAME OF GO AMEN The seaventeenth day of June in the third yeare of the raigne of our soveraigne Lord James the second by the grace of God of England Scotland ffrance and IrelandKing Defender of the faith xr. Anno dom one thousand six hundred eighty seaven I Mary Pearle of London Widow being in good and perfect health both of mind and body, but to prevent any suddaine change or alteracon of my Condicon, doe make this my last Will and Testament as followeth

And first I doe give and bequeath my Soule into the hands of All Mighty God hopeing for Salvacon, onely by the merits of my deare Saviour Jesus Christ And my body I desire my be interred in the Church of S:t Hellens in the Citty of London, neare the body of my deare husband according to the discretion of my Executors hereafter amed And as to the Estate wch it hath pleased God to blesse me with I now devise and bequeath the Same as followeth

IMPRIMIS I doe give and devise unto John Powell of the Inner Temple London Esq:r and James Selbey of the Inner Temple London Esq:r the summe of one thousand pounds of lawfull money of England and upon this trust and confidence that as Soone as conveniently they can after my decease they lay out the same in the purchase of Lands or houses and immediately after such purchase made shall and will convey and settle the same to the use of my sonne Thomas Pearle for the tearme of his naturall life without impeachment of ?Wast and after the determinacon of the said Estate to the use of the said John Powell and James Selbey dureing the life of the said Thomas Pearle to p:rserve the contingent uses onely and not to receive the rents issues and profitts there of to theire owne behoofe but onely to the benefitt of the S:d Thomas Pearle and after the decease of the said Thomas Pearle to the use of the first second third and every other Sonne and Sonns of the body of the said Thomas Pearle lawfully issueing successively and respectively as they shall be in priority of birth and seniority of age and to the Heyres males of the body of such Sonne and sonnes respectively with a power for him the S:d

Thomas to make and Wife a joynture for her life of the said houses or Lands or any part thereof provided that if he hath issue male liveing by one Wife that then he hath now power to make any joynture to a latter Wife and with a power to make such provision for daughters or younger Children as they the said John Powell and James Selbey or any of them shall think meet and sufficient, and for default of such issue to the use of my sonne William Pearle for the tearme of his naturall life and after the determinacon of his said Estate, to the use of the said John Powell and James Selbey to preserve the contingent uses onely and not to receive the rents ussues and profitts thereof to their owne behoofe But onely for the benefitt of the said William Pearle for the use of the first second third and every other Sonne and Sonnes of the body of the said William Pearle lawfully issuing, successively and respectively as they shall be in priority of birth and age, and to the Heyres males of the body of such sonne and sonnes respectively And for default of such issue as for one Moiety thereof to the use and behoofe of William Culling sonne of Charles Culling by my daughter Susannah lately deceased for the tearme of his naturall life and after the determination of the said Estate to the use of the said John Powell and James Selby dureing the life of the said William Culling to preserve the contingent uses onely and not to receive the rents issues and profitts thereof to And from and after the decease of the said William Culling to the use of the first second third and every other sonne and sonnes of the body of the said William Culling lawfully issueing successively and respectively as they shall be in priority of Birth and age, and to the Heyres males of the body of such sonne and sonnes respectively issueing and for want of such issue to the use and behoofe of the right Heyres of the said William Culling for ever and as to the other Moity thereof to the use and behoofe of Thomas Pargiter Sonne of Thomas Pargiter by my daughter Amy and to his right Heyres for evermore Provided allwaies that untill the said one Thousand pounds shall be laid out in manner as aforesaid That the said John Powell and James Selbey doe pay such interest as the same can be received after my decease unto my said sonneThomas dureing his life and after his decease unto such person or persons and in such manner as the Houses and Lands therewith to be purchased are hereby before limitted to be and remaine And my desire is that the said John Powell and James Selbey or either of them shall not be charged with the said moneys or any part thereof or any other money mencioned in this my Will that shall or may be here after lost without any willfull default or neglect in them

ITEM I give and bequeath unto the said John Powell and James Selbey all that my xxxxx of a tearme for yeares wch I have now to come in a house in the parish of S:t Allhallowes in the Wall in the Citty of London upon this trust that they permitt and suffer my sonne Thomas Pearle to receive the rents issues and profitts thereof dureing his life provided allwaies that if my said Sonne Thomas should marry and should have one or more Children then my Will and meaning is that the s:d

John Powell and James Selbey and the Survivor of them after the death of the said Thomas Pearle shall convey all their interest in the said house to such Child, if but one but if he shall have more Children then one shall convey the same unto such Children theire Executors Administrators and Assignes equally to be devided betweene them And if my said Sonne Thomas shall dye unmarried or have noe lawfull issue Then my Will and meaning is that the said John Powell and James Selbey shall permitt and suffer my said sonne William to receive the rents issues and profitts of the said House dureing his Life provided alsoe that if my said sonne William shall marry, and shall have one or more Children Then my Will and meaning is that the said John Powell and James Selbey and the Survivor of them after the death of the said William Pearle shall convey all their interest in the said House to such child if but one but if he shall happen to have more Children then one shall convey the same unto such Children their Executors Adm:s and Assignesequally to be divided between them and if my said Sonne William shall dye unmarried or haveing noe lawfull issue then my Will and meaning is that the said John Powell and James Selbey shall convey all theire interest in my said house to my grandsonne William Culling sonne of Charles Culling by my daughter Susannah to receive the rents issues and profitts of the said House dureing his life Provided alsoe that if the said William Culling shall marry and shall have one or more Children then my Will and meaning is that the said John Powell and James Selbey and the Survivor of them after the death of the said William Culling shall convey all theire interest in the said House to such child if butone But if he shall happen to have more children then one shall then convey the same unto such children theire Executors Administrators and Assignes equally to be divided betweene them, and if the said William Culling shall dye unmarried or haveing noe lawfull issue then my Will and meaning is that the s:d John Powell and James Selbey shall convey all their interest in the house unto my grandsonne John Pargiter Sonne of Thomas Pargiter by my daughter Amy his Executors Administrat:s and Assignes Provided allwaies and my meaning is the said John Powell and James Selbey, and the Survivor of them shall and may deduct out of the rents issues and profitts of the said House soe much money as shall be sufficient for a fine to renew the Lease, according to the time therein usually granted when and at such time as they the said John Powell and James Selbey or the Survivor of them shall thinke fitt to doe the same Alsoe Whereas I have lentunto my sonne William Pearle the summe of five hundred pounds upon Security by Bond my Will and meaning is that if I dye in the life time of my said Sonne William, then I doe give and bequeath unto my said sonne William the said five hundred pounds But if my said Sonne William shall happen to dye in my life time, then my Will and meaning is that the said Bond shall continuein force and that the said five hundred pounds shall be paid and answered unto me my Execut:s Administrators and Assignes

ITEM I give and bequeath my granddaughter Mary Culling in case she shall live to be be married or shall attaine the age of one and Twenty yeares the summe of two hundred pounds of lawfull English money And then I doe alsoe appoint, that

my Executors shall pay unto the said Mary Culling such interest as shall be made of the said two hundred pounds But if she shall happen to dye before her Marriage, or before she shall have attained the age of one and twenty yeares then I give and bequeath the said two Hundred pounds with the interest that shall be made thereof to my two sonnes Thomas and William to be equally divided betweene them

ITEM I doe give and bequeath unto my granddaughter Mary Pargiter in case she shall live to be married, or shall attaine the age of one and twenty yeares the summe of one Hundred pounds of lawfull English money, and thenI doe alsoe appoint that my said Executors shall pay unto the said Mary Pargiter such interest as shall be made of the said one hundred pounds But if she shall happen to dye before her Marriage or before she shall have attained the age of one and Twenty yeares Then I give and bequeath the said one Hundred pounds to her brothers and sisters of the whole blood that shall be then liveing, to be equally divided betweene them

ITEM I give unto my grandsonne William Culling Sonne of Charles Culling the summe of fifty pounds of lawfull English money

ITEM I give unto my granddaughter Elizabeth Culling my Rose Diamond ring and to my granddaughter Amy Pargiter my ?Eye Diamond ring and to my granddaughter Martha Pargiter my little table diamond ring

ITEM I give unto my sonne William my wedding ring, and to my daughter Pargiter and my daughter Mary Chandler my ?Organ and best Cabinet

ITEM I give unto my granddaughter Mary Pargiter my wrought bed lined with white and two feather beds and all the residue of my said goods togeather with what is due to me upon the Castle frigate I give to my sonne William

ITEM I doe give to all my grandchildren to whome I have before bequeathed noe Legacies hereby, the summe of Twenty shillings a peece to buy them rings

ITEM I doe give and bequeath unto my sonne John Culling and to my sonne Charles Culling and to my sonne Thomas Pargiter twenty shillings apeece to buy each of them a ring, and likewise I give and bequeath unto S:r Gervas Ellwaies and his Lady and to my Cousin Robinson and his Lady and to my sister ?Belson Twenty shillings apeece to buy each of them a ring, And I give the summe of five pounds with all my wearing apparell to such servant maid as shall live with me at the time of my decease and I give unto the said John Powell and James Selbey five pounds apeice to buy each of them a ring

and I doe make and constitute the said John Powell and James Selbey Executors of this my last Will and Testament and doe appoint that what shall remaine of my personall Estate, over and above my funnerall expenses and Debts, if any shall happen, shall be applyed towards the Renewall of the Lease in my said House in the said Parish of S:t Allhallowes in the Wall, in the Citty of London
