The personall answears of '''John Jackson'''<br />
made to the positions of a libell given in<br />
against him on the behalfe of Thomas<br />
Brainfford doe followe.
To the first pretended position he answereth<br />
and beleeveth that hee this respondent beinge<br />
resident at Marcells within the time arlate<br />
as a factor there for divers English merchants<br />
and amongst others for the articulate Brainfford<br />
did within the time articulate write ober to<br />
the said Bramfford as the Custome of<br />
factors is to their principalls signifyeinge<br />
unto them what comodities are there best<br />
vendible and this rendent beleeveth that in<br />
his said letter hee advised the said Brainfford<br />
that Pilchards and drye fish was then and<br />
there a verye good comodtie and advised him<br />
to send over a shippe laden therewith for his<br />
the said Brainffords account, which letter<br />
this rendent beleeveth the sid Brainfford<br />
receaved, And did as hee beleeveth<br />
thereuppon freighte the shipp articulate of<br />
the arlate Plumleigh and Mathewes and<br />
laded her with Pilchards and drye ffish, for,<br />
his the said Brainffords owne account as<br />
hee beleeveth and sent one Humfry Smith<br />
the said Brainsffords brother in lawe factor<br />
of her to whome hee consigned the said shippe<br />
and consigned the said shippe<br />
