the 23th day of August 1636. Last past the … the 23th day of August 1636. Last past the interrogate William Penryn<br />
of London merchant came abord the shipp called the ''Damaske Rose'' of London (wherof this<br />
deponent then was master) being the under sayle off against Yarmouth<br />
in the Isle of Weighte, and did imbarke himselfe to goe passenger in her<br />
to Virgnia, and uppon Tuesdaye the fower and twentith day of<br />
November last past, in the course of the sayd shipp towards<br />
Virginia about one hundred leagues (as he guesseth) short of Virginia<br />
the sayd Penryn dyed and departed out of this life, abord the sayd<br />
shipp, and this deponent sayeth that he knewe the sayd<br />
Penryn by sight for the space of a yeare or two before he came abord<br />
the sayd shipp neere the Isle of Weight as aforesayd. And this he affirmeth<br />
uppin his oath to be true. And further he cannot depose savinge he<br />
sayeth that the sayd shipp the ''Damaske Rose'' departed from Tilbury<br />
Hope on her sayd voyage to Virginia on the sixth day of August 1636<br />
