Conversation which he hath had with the sa … Conversation which he hath had with the sayd Owners, and severall<br />
merchants of Hamburgh who have sometymes laden the sayd shipp<br />
and by his owne observation as an Inhabitant of Hamburgh, and as a<br />
seafaring man that hath sometymes sayled along in Company of the<br />
sayd shipp he knoweth and is well assured that the sayd shipp from the<br />
tyme of her first building hath bene constantly fitted and furnished<br />
att the Costs and Charges of the sayd Owners and upon their Accompt<br />
And otherwise he cannot depose.

To the first negatively.
To the second he saith that the names birth and habitation of the respective<br />
Owners of the ''Salvador'' he hath formely specifyed. And saith that the<br />
sayd Jerome Peterson dwelleth in [?Grimme] street in Hamburg. Dan[?iell]<br />
Brandts in the Toll brudgh (sic). Jeremy Sniter (sic) in the Dyck street<br />
Jan Baptista Yonker in the Green street. Girald Bormaster<br />
in the Kaerwedder. Henrick Hambrock in the Saint Katharine street<br />
Vincent Clinburgh in the Huckstar. Dirick Roopke in the<br />
fforzetting, and Christian Cloppenburgh up in the Sand. all of<br />
them in Hamburgh aforesayd. And otherwise saving his former<br />
depositions he cannot depose.
To the third and fourth hee referreth himselfe to his former depositions<br />
and otherwise he cannot depose. saveing that the building of the<br />
sayd shipp Cost twelve thousand Rix dollars or thereabouts as he<br />
beleiveth.
To the fifth he saith and deposeth that after the sayd shipp was built by<br />
and for the sayd Owners as aforesayd, he this deponent saw them in the<br />
wuiet possession of her in or about the yeares 1647, to and for their<br />
owne use soly without any partners or sharers with them. And further<br />
he cannot depose.
To the sixth he saith that he doth not know beleive or hath heard that within<br />
the tyme iInterrate the sayd shipp or any part thereof hath by the saydOwners<br />
or any of them bene sould or conveyed over to any person or persons whatsoever<br />
And saith by vertue of his Oath that the sayd shipp this last voyage was<br />
fitted out to sea by the Master of her out of the freight which is to be<br />
allowed by his respective Owners upon Accompt. And further cannot depose.
To the seventh he saith that the sayd shipp he well knoweth hath not bene<br />
att Amsterdam since the beginning of June 1652; Haveing bene ever<br />
since that tyme in the Streights, att Cadize, and in the Custody of the<br />
shipps of this Commonwealth. And saith she did not nor doth belong to<br />
Amsterdam, or Burdeaux or any Port under the Jurisdiction of the [?ffrench]<br />
or King of ffrance Interrate And saith she came last from Cadize and<br />
was bound to Ostend in her Course to which Port she was seized by the<br />
shipps of this Commonwealth. And further he cannot depose.
To the eighth he saith that the sayd Christian Cloppenbergh was the first [?and]<br />
hath bene the onely Master of the sayd shipp from her first building being<br />
five yeares or thereabouts. and first tooke Charge of her att Hamburgh<br />
where he was constituted Master by the Owners above named, who continue<br />
Owners to this day, and were so twelve monethes agoe. And further cannot<br />
depose.
