soone after the sayd seizure he this deponent being commannder of<br />
the sayd private man of warr did there deliver the sayd Captaine<br />
dunstan two sea breifes under the seale of the States and Citty of<br />
Hamburgh and one bill of lading the contents whereof were<br />
and are true. and allso four letters the contents whereof hee<br />
knoweth not. all ehich Certificatts letters and bill of lading were<br />
really brought in the sayd shipp from Hamburgh, and the sayd sea breifes<br />
were really sealed with the seale of the sayd citty of Hamburgh, and<br />
were and are true and reall and not false fraudulent or colourable<br />
which he knoweth for that upon the issuing forth of the sayd<br />
seabreifes he this deponent was present in the Stadt howse in<br />
Hamburgh and then and there saw and heard the sayd producents<br />
sworne before the Lords the States there to the effect of the contents<br />
of the sayd Seabreifes, referring himselfe to the same, and was<br />
himselfe then likewise sworne to the same effect so farr as according<br />
to the Custome there belonged to this deponent to sweare And otherwise<br />

one of the Company of the sayd shipp ''Agreement''<br />
aged 22 yeares or thereabouts a witnes sworne<br />
and examined deposeth and saith as followeth videlicet
To the first article he saith the arlate Giles Lawrence was captaine master<br />
or Commander of the sayd shipp the voyage in quesion which was begun<br />
from this port of London about June 1651. and otherwise cannot depose.
To the second article of the sayd allegation he saith that in the sayd yeare [?1651]<br />
and particularly on October November and december of the same yeare<br />
and before and after the arlate Roger Hatton was residing att Naples<br />
and was the factor of the producents and for such was accounted and<br />
taken. and otherwise cannot depose.
To the third and fourth articles of the sayd allegation thi sdeponent saith that in<br />
the moneth of December 1651 the sayd shipp and Captaine Lawerence and this<br />
deponent were att Naples, when and where this deponent was given to<br />
understand aswell by the sayd Roger Hatton as others that the sayd George<br />
ffarrington had within some few monethes before bene there, and<br />
that he had contracted with the sayd Mr Hatton att a rate agreed upon to<br />
deliver to him or his assignes aboard any shipp or shippes to be sent for<br />
that purpose .1100 salmes of oyles of the measure of Galipoly att Petras<br />
a place in the golfe of Lepanto for the use of the sayd Roger Hatton or<br />
his Assignes. And otherwise cannot depose.
To the fifth sixth and seventh articles of the sayd allegation This deponent saith<br />
That in or about the month of January 1651, the sayd Giles Lawerence by<br />
the Order of the sayd Mr Hatton did depart from Naples with intent to sayle to<br />
Petras and there to take in the sayd oyles according to the foresayd contract<br />
and that att Naples and Messina were putt aboard the sayd shipp to [?XXXX]<br />
