Transcription for that he is a Rope maker by trade and kfor that he is a Rope maker by trade and knoweth well<br /> that in the yeare 1652. the best sort of hempe was here<br /> sold in London at 36 ''s'' per hundred and the worser sort att [?3X]<br /> per hundred. And saith the foresayd hempe allegat was a very good<br /> sort of hempe. And he further saith that the foresayd<br /> Cargazon of goods being so laden the sayd shipp ''Elizabeth''<br /> ''and Mary'' departed therewith from Riga and in August<br /> 1652 arrived safely therewith att Copenhagen in Denmarke<br /> And that in September 1652 teh foresayd shipp was by<br /> authority of the King of denmarke stayd att Copenhagen<br /> by an Embargo, and deteyned under the same till the<br /> 7th day of ffebruary 1652. upon or about which day the<br /> Ministers of the sayd King did by force seize the sayd shippe<br /> and Cargazon of goods and the foresayd bundles of hempe<br /> under the markes aforesayd amongst the rest by meanes<br /> of which seizure the sayd Wooland and Company were diposses<br /> of the sayd shipp and her ladung, and the sayd Cargazon of goods<br /> and the hempe marked as aforesayd amongest the restand<br /> became lost to the English merchants the true owners<br /> thereof which sayd owners over and besides the losse of the sayd goods<br /> have suffered other great dammage in the want of improvement<br /> of their stockes by meanes of the seizure aforesayd.
