And further or otherwise cannot depose:-/
To the 6th hee hath not so deposed./
To the 7th hee saith hee beleeveth the interrate Wyse to bee John Wyse the<br />
Master of the ''Richard and William'' as predeposed, and knoweth not of any<br />
other of that name then being in those parts of Turkey. And further cannot depose
To the 8th hee saith hee knoweth nothing thereof further or otherwise then hee hath<br />
formerly deposed.
To the 9th hee saith hee knoweth nothing thereof./:-
To the 10th, That upon or about the 16th day of May <u>.1652.</u> interrate<br />
the said shipp ''Thomas Bonadventure'' was fully laden in her hold, and the [?steaveing]<br />
geere wherewith the hold was steaved was carried ashoare, but by the especiall<br />
direction of the said Richard Chewne the same was againe brought aboard<br />
expressely to steave the forepeake of the said shipp with Cotton woolls, for the [?doing]<br />
whereof the said Chewne promised the said shipps Company a hogshead of<br />
wyne, which hee performed, and this rendent had share thereof, and the said Chewne came<br />
in the said shipp to Zant and Cephalonia caused there some butts of Currants<br />
to be laden and putt on board the said shipp, (as by this rendent is predeposed) And<br />
saith hee beleeveth the interrate shipp ''Richard and William'' was laden and<br />
readie to have departed from Cyprus on or about the said 16th day of May<br />
<u>1652</u>. And further hee cannot depose./
To the 11th hee saith, That as hee now remembreth the said shipp ''Thomas''<br />
''Bonadventure'' remained at Cyprus about 10. daies after shee had received<br />
in her lading there. And further cannot depose:-
To the 12th hee saith, The said shipp ''Thomas Bonadventure'' sayled from<br />
Cyprus with the English Convoy aforesaid to Zant and Cefalonia where<br />
shee remained about 12. daies as hee now remembreth. And further cannot<br />
depose./
To the 13th hee saith, That no English shipp or shipps departed from Zant or<br />
Cephalonia during the time of the ''Thomas Bonadventure'' remained there<br />
aforesaid, so farr as this deponent saw observed, or heard./
To the Interrogatories exhibited 14th of december <u>1654</u>:- [CENTRE HEADING]
To the first Interrogatory hee saith, That hee beleeveth his this deponents Master<br />
hath received all the wages due for this deponents service in the Voyage in<br />
Controversy, and hath heard diverse of the said shipps Companie acknowledge<br />
at Porta fferara, That they had there received their full wages due for the<br />
said Voiage, And otherwise hee cannot depose saving his foregoeing deposition to<br />
which hee referreth:-
To the 2. hee saith hee knoweth notthing thereof.
To the 3. hee saith, That hee this rendent served in and aboard the said shipp<br />
''Thomas Bonadventure'' whilen shee was in the service of this Commonwealth<br />
and that his this rendents Master received 20: ''s'' per moneth for such his service<br />
as hee beleeveth. And further hee cannot depose./
To the 4th hee saith, hee this rendent was at Porto Longoone at such time as<br />
that place was blocked up by the dutch, but as to the time when the dutch<br />
shipps interrate retired from thence, hee remembreth not./
To the 5th hee saith hee hath knowne the interrate Roger ffowke onely the<br />
Voiage in Controversie. And further cannot depose/
To the 6th hee saith, That the first time this deponent ever heard or tooke notice of<br />
any hostility between the Tripoly men of warr and the English, was upon<br />
the Voiage at Cyprus, but saith hee hath for divers yeares past knowne<br />
