Transcription serve in their severall places and charegeserve in their severall places and chareges therein as Mariners thereof from the<br /> tenth day of June last (which was the day they entered into full pay at Gravesend)<br /> untill the twenty sixth day of december last past, and saith hee hath heaard the sayd<br /> Peter Bartlet did belong to the sayd shipp and entered into whole pay for the same the<br /> space of halfe a moneth next before the sayd tenth day of June And further<br /> hee cannot depose./ To the 16th article jee saith hee was not privie to the rates at which any of the<br /> Mariners of the shipp ''Thomas and Lucie'', mentioned in the schedule arlate<br /> were hyred, but saith hee well knoweth all the persons therein named and knoweth<br /> what quality and condition they served in her during the voyage in question<br /> and beleeveth that the usuall rate then for other mariners goeing in the like shipps<br /> and voyages as the ''Thomas and Lucie'' and the voyage in question were, and which<br /> were capable of the like service as the mariners of the ''Thomas and Lucie'' in the<br /> sayd schedule mentioned were capable of such as are mentioned in the sayd schedule and hee<br /> beleeveth the Mariners of the ''Thomas and Lucie'' in the sayd schedule named did<br /> well deserve for their service in the sayd shipp the severall monthely rates in<br /> the sayd schedule specified And further hee cannot depose To the 17th hee saith the arlate William Maples hath bin by this deponent and<br /> the sayd Bartlett for them selves and the rest of the Company of the shipp ''Thomas and Lucie'' required to pay them<br /> their severall wages due to them for the voyage in question which hee denyed<br /> and still doth denye to pay And further hee cannot depose/ To the 18th hee referreth himselfe to the Registry of this Court and further<br /> cannot depose./ To the 19th article hee saith the arlate Peter Bartlett William hamblyn<br /> and the rest of the mariners of the sayd shipp ''Thomas and Lucie'' (whereof this<br /> deponent is one) are much damnified for and by reason of their not being paid<br /> their wages due to them by the arlate William Maples, to a considerable<br /> value And saith they are and all of them persons who live by their service in<br /> shipps in forraigne imployment, and cannot as hee beleeveth sett themselves<br /> forth on other Imployment till they have receaved their wages now<br /> controverted for want of moneys to supply them with necessaries<br /> for undertaking service in other shippsand thereby have bin and are<br /> as hee beleeveth greatly damnified And further hee cannot depose<br /> but referreth himselfe to the lawes in that case established./ To the 20th hee saith his foregoeing deposition is true and referreth him<br /> selfe thereto and to the lawe./ To the 21th hee sayth the arlate Maples Broderick and hatton are commonly<br /> Accompted subiects of this Common wealth, and are as hee beleeveth<br /> subiect to the authority of this Court And further hee cannot depose/ To the last hee saith his foregoeing depositions are true./ To the Interrogatories/ [CENTRE HEADING] '''Rp''' To the first Interrogatorie hee saith hee was one of the Company and<br /> Gunners mate of the ''Thomas and Lucie'' the voyage in question and doth expect<br /> his wages for his service in the same if the Interrogate Bartlet and others<br /> recover theirs, and saith that soe farr as lawfully and with good conscience hee<br /> may hee doth endeavour the sayd Bartlet and others of the sayd shipp may<br /> recover their wages but not otherwise./ To the 2 their wages but not otherwise./ To the 2  +
