Transcription To the second Interrogatorie hee saith thaTo the second Interrogatorie hee saith that the Interrogate Bartlet and Company<br /> (who sue for wages in this cause) after they had as is predeposed required of<br /> the foresayd William Maples part of their wages due to them to buy thenm<br /> necessaries and sawe that hee denyed to pay them any, and well seeing that<br /> the shipp ''Thomas and Lucie'' was much decayed and not fitt to goe upon a tradeing<br /> voyage without much cost and tyme spent in the repayreing and fitting of her<br /> to goe to sea, did refuse to staye in the sayd shipp and deserted her<br /> without the consent of the sayd Maples who told them hee would get his<br /> sayd shipp repayred with all speede And further hee cannot answere not<br /> knowing nor having heard of any protest made by the sayd Maples/ Repeated before doctors Clarke and doctor Godolphin/ James Salmon [SIGNATURE, RH SIDE] ********************************* The 25th of January 1654 English style Examined upon the sayd libell./ '''Rp. 2us.'''
