Transcription ''Phenix'', Captaine Wadsworth Commander. ''Phenix'', Captaine Wadsworth Commander. And further saving his<br /> foregoeing deposition, to which hee referreth, hee cannot depose./ To the 4th hee saith the English Convoy interrate arrived at Cyprus<br /> upon the 16th day of May <u>1652.</u> as this deponent hath observed out of his<br /> Journall concerning the Voiage in Controversie, and saith that at such<br /> their arrivall the shipp ''Thomas Bonadventure'' was not fully laden in<br /> her hold, and that after about two daies stay of the said Convoy at Cyprus, they<br /> went to Scanderoon to take in fireing, and in the meane time, as this deponent<br /> remembreth, the interrate Richard Chewne in the ''dart friggat'' interrate<br /> Captaine Maplesden Commander, together with the ''African frigat''<br /> Captaine Woodgreene Commander arrived at Cyprus, and saith that<br /> upon such their arrivall some bailes of fine goods by the said Chewnes<br /> direction were taken out of the ''dart'' and laden aboard the said shipp<br /> ''Thomas Bonadventure'', and that the ''dart'' brought the said Chewne to<br /> Cyprus and left him there, but remembreth not exactly the number<br /> of daies between the arrivalls interrate. To the fifth hee saith That the Order or words to the effect of an Order<br /> by him predeposed to be given or spoken by the said Richard Chewne to the<br /> interrate George hughes, were so spoken upon the quarterdeck of the<br /> said shipp ''Thomas Bonadventure'' then at Cyprus in the moneth of May<br /> <u>1652.</u> this deponent being then present, and the two Masters Mates and Boateswaine<br /> and Carpenter of the said shipp, and knoweth of no such Order as is<br /> interrate to be given in writing, And further saving his foregoeing<br /> deposition hee cannot depose./ To the 6th hee saith, That the English Convoy and ''Thomas Bonad-<br /> venture'' interrate sett saile from Cyprus upon the 9th day of June<br /> <u>1652</u> old style./ To the 7th hee saith hee referreth himselfe to his foregoeing deposition, And<br /> further cannot depose./ To the 8th hee saith hee this rendent did not take any notice in what<br /> quantity of paper the letter interrate was written, And otherwise referring<br /> himselfe to his foregoeing deposition, And the said letter remaining in the<br /> Registry of this Court hee saith hee cannot depose./ To the 9th hee referreth himselfe to his foregoeing deposition, And further<br /> cannot depose./ To the 10th hee saith, the interrate dutchmen of warr mett with the<br /> English shipps interrate about 20. leagues (in this rendents Judgement)<br /> from Corsica interrate,/ To the 11th he saith the said English Convoy and ''Thomas Bonadventure''<br /> came into Porto Longoone interrate upon the 31th day of August <u>1652</u><br /> and saith, That the said English shipps forced in thither did all remaine<br /> there till the [?21th] of January next ensueing, before which time the<br /> ''Thomas Bonadventure'' could not with safety depart thence./re'' could not with safety depart thence./  +
