Transcription they had receaved order from their Master they had receaved order from their Master the sayd hudson that the open lyter should<br /> be vered a sterne and the sayd cloase lyter ladid in her place, and presently laded<br /> because shee was hyred by the day, and the lytermen of the open lyter being still<br /> unwilling to remove from her place by the shipps side where she laye, some of<br /> the sayd shipps company loosned the roape wherewith shee was fastned to the<br /> sayd shipp and vered her lower downe towards the sterne and told the<br /> litermen of the open lyter that they would lade noe more goods into that open<br /> lyter till the next morning and told them after they had fastned the<br /> sayd open lyter to the sterne shee would lye safe enough till next morning and that they might goe home and come back againe betymes the next<br /> morning and then they would lade them soe that they might save their tide up or to that effect<br /> and then the sayd shipps Company fell in hand presently with ladeing the sayd<br /> close lyter and did lade her soe that this deponent at the next flood<br /> which happened about sixe or seaven a clock the same night did departe<br /> with the sayd Cloase lyter and her ladeing and saved his tyde up and<br /> brought the same safe to Galley Key where hee delivered the same, And hee<br /> saith the sayd Lytermen of the open lyter seeing the shipps company had dismissed them<br /> and told them they would lade noe more goods into their open lyter till the next<br /> morning of the day this deponents sayd close lyter came to bee laded as aforesayd,<br /> the sayd lytermen of the open lyter after they had [?seyved] out some smale<br /> quantitie of water that was in her departed and left the same open lyter<br /> and the goods laden aboard her safe and well and free from any damage by wett<br /> and soe the same of this deponents knowledge continued after their<br /> departure and untill such tyme as hee this deponent departed<br /> from the sayd shipp with the sayd Close lyter and her ladeing which was<br /> about sixe or seaven a clock of the evening of the same day in<br /> which hee came to bee laded as aforesayd And further to these articles hee cannot depose<br /> saving hee saith hee beleeveth the sayd open lyter was a stanch and tyte lyter<br /> and would have carried her ladeing to her place appointed without damage<br /> by any wett for that hee did observe that shee had bin newly trimmed<br /> and that whilest this deponents close lyter lay by her shee the sayd open lyter did not take in<br /> any water whereby to damage the goods in her.
