Transcription Mills and Boulton nor either of them any tMills and Boulton nor either of them any tyme had nor hath<br /> any Interest in the sayd close lyter nor did at the tyme predeposed lett the same<br /> to the sayd hudson, but shee was then hyred by the sayd hudson of this deponent<br /> and this deponent imediately sent his servant Gilbert Woodman with her to take<br /> in the sayd ladeing from on board the sayd Shipp ''Smirna ffactor'' who<br /> accordingly receaved his ladeing and returned the next tyde after to Galley<br /> Key where shee laye before shee was delivered longer then the three dayes agreed,<br /> upon and the sayd hudson thereupon paid this deponent his demorage according<br /> to the bargaine aforesayd. And hee alsoe saith that 2 ''d'' a bagg is the usuall<br /> rate for literage of Cotton woolls and such kinde of goods<br /> And further to those articles hee cannot depose in regard hee<br /> went not in person with his sayd close lyter nor knoweth any thing of the passages in<br /> the sayd allegation mentioned save what hee hath predeposed and therefore<br /> further hee cannot depose thereto./ To the last hee saith his foregoeing deposition is true./ To the Interrogatories/ [CENTRE HEADING] To the first Interrogatorie hee saith hee well knoweth the Interrogate John Mills and<br /> Henry Bolton and hath soe knowne them these 7 yeares last past or<br /> thereabouts And further hee cannot answere not knowing any thing of the rest<br /> of the sayd Interrogatorie./ To the 2 Interrogatorie hee knoweth nothing of the contents thereof not being privie to nor<br /> having heard what bargaines were made betwixt the ssayd Boulton and hudson<br /> nor knowing what the company doe in case of ladeing of fine or course goods./ To the 3 Interrogatorie hee saith hee knoweth nothing of the contents thereof and therefore<br /> cannot answere thereto./ To the 4th hee answereth negatively videlicet that hee is noe way concerned in the<br /> lyter or damage in question nor will or can any blame fall upon him by what<br /> meanes soever the same came And saith hee hath noe manner of relation to<br /> the Interrogated Bolton nor Mills./ To the 5th Interrogatorie hee saith that in the case Interrogate a Lyterman is not<br /> hyred to watch or take any care of the goods in his lyter save ony to<br /> stowe them and carry the lyter to her appointed place with as much safely<br /> as hee can, but is not hyred to take any care of their being stolne nor to<br /> make good any thing indamaged or imbezeled, but the laders doe usually send<br /> some person alonge with the goods to take care of them And to the rest of the<br /> Interrogatorie hee cannot answere for the reasons in his foregoeing deposition expressed To the last Interrogatorie hee saith hee cannot answer for the reasons by him before<br /> predeposed./ Repeated before doctor Clarke Ambros [?XXXX] [SIGNATURE, RH SIDE]larke Ambros [?XXXX] [SIGNATURE, RH SIDE]  +
