Transcription to bee the true and lawfull Owners of the to bee the true and lawfull Owners of the said shipp, and that as such<br /> Owners they constituted this examinate Master thereof./ To the second hee saith, That the said shipps lading did and doeth consist<br /> of deales and planckes, which are for the accompt of the freighter<br /> Mr Everard Scott of Amsterdam and also two great and costely looking glasses and eight Tunns of tarr<br /> 6. whereof are for the accompt of the said shipps Companie, and<br /> two for the service of the said shipp, and saith the said shipp and ladeing<br /> were designed for the Port of Brest in Brittanie there to be<br /> discharged, And further cannot depose:-/ To the third hee saith, That hee had no Charterpartie at all aboard his<br /> said shipp att or beefore the time of her seizure, but had one bill of<br /> lading aboard concerning the said deales and planckes, inclosed in a letter<br /> to the factors to whom the said goods were to bee delivered at Brest for<br /> the accompt of the said Mr Everard Scott, as alsoe a Sea-brief<br /> and a Passeport for the said shipp and goods, all which writing<br /> this examinate with his owne hand delivered to the Captaine of the<br /> shipp the ''Elizabeth'' in the imediate service of this Commonwealth<br /> whereof as hee remembreth one Captaine [?Minie] was Captaine<br /> And saith that all the said writings were made and signed at<br /> Amsterdam, and none of them at Sea, and that by this rendents<br /> knowledge noe writings whatsoever belonging to the said shipp<br /> have beene throwne overboard, burnt, torne or concealed, or any<br /> way imbeazeled or made away/ To the last he saith hee hath not received any fraight at all for<br /> the voiage interrate, and that hee was to receive his fraight for<br /> the same upon the delivery of the said shipps lading at Brest from<br /> the factor that was to receive the same there, and there the said voiage<br /> was to expire and end, and from thence to take the best oportuniy<br /> of freight shee could meet withall to. and for the benefitt of her/ Repeated before Doctor Clerke./ John Cornelis [?XXXX] [SIGNATURE, RH SIDE] ****************************************** The 29th of June <u>.1655:-</u> [CENTRE HEADING] The Clayme of Richard Le Bas and others}<br /> for the shipp the ''dolphin'' alias ''fortune'' John}<br /> Johnson van [?dillerum] Master Suckley.
