Transcription to see whether there were any defect or fato see whether there were any defect or fault in the stowage of the sayd casks<br /> And further hee cannot depose./ To the 6th article hee saith that hee knoweth that the ''Pilgrim'' was put into the<br /> dock to be repaired and ameded of the hurt shee received by the ''Exeter Merchant''<br /> falling fowle of her and forcing her on ground and thereby wringeing her as<br /> aforesayd, and hee this deponent helped to put her into the sayd dock being the<br /> dock of one Mr Graves beere dicks shoare by the order of James Watkins<br /> the Master and one of the Owners of the ''Pilgrim'' And hee beleeveth that the repaires<br /> of the damage done to the ''Pilgrim'' by reason of her head boltspritt and cables being<br /> broke by the ''Exeter Merchant'', and her being runne on ground and wrunge as<br /> aforesayd did cost the arlate Bland and Company a very considerable summe<br /> of money but how much hee knoweth not And further cannot depose/ To the 7th hee saith hee hath credibly heard and beleeveth that the ''Pilgrim'' arlate before<br /> shee wass hurt as is predeposed by th ''Exeter Merchant'' was lett out to freight by<br /> the moneth videlicet hee hath heard and beleeveth that shee was at the tyme of her<br /> setting out from London upon her last voyage hyred for the moneth to<br /> goe to severall Ports videlicet to Cales and Saint Lucar and Virginia and thence back to Saint<br /> Lucar and thence to London, and was hyred for 14 moneths and more as hee hath<br /> heard and beleeveth, of which 14 moneths hee knoweth there were about eight moneths to<br /> come when the damage aforesayd happened, for that hee knoweth shee was out<br /> in her last voyage aforesayd only about 6 moneths, And further hee cannot depose<br /> for that hee knoweth not whether her receiving the samage were the cause of her<br /> owners altering or giving over the imployment shee was before designed<br /> upon./ To the 8th hee referreth himselfe to the Registry of this Court and<br /> further cannot depose./ To the 9th hee knoweth the sayd Woodfin and his habitation and therefore knoweth<br /> him to be a subiect of this Commonwealth, and as hee beleeveth, subiect to<br /> the Jurisdiction of this Court and further hee cannot depose/ To the last hee saith his foregoeing deposition is true./ To the Interrogatories./ [CENTRE HEADING] To the first hee cometh to be a witnes in this Cause being<br /> soe required by James Watkins on behalfe of him selfe and sayd<br /> John Bland, and saith hee this rendent was masters Mate of the ''Pilgrim''<br /> and hyred by the moneth for soe longe tyme as shee should continue upon<br /> the voyage without expressing how many moneths the same should bee, And<br /> saith his wages due is paid And further<br /> hee cannot answere/ To the second Interrogatorie hee saith hee hath heard that the ''Exeter Merchant''<br /> was cut loose from an other ship<br /> whereto shee lay fastned but the shipps name shee was fastned to or<br /> the name of her captaine hee knoweth not nor hath heard<br /> nor who cut hre loose,<br /> And further saving his foregoeing deposition<br /> hee cannot answere/deposition<br /> hee cannot answere/  +
