in this deponents Judgment and estimate And further hee cannot depose/
To the 7th and the schedule therein mentioned hee saith that the same being read<br />
to him by the Interpreter at this his examination and alsoe showne him this deponent<br />
hee saith the same is a true translation of a schedule or noate which this<br />
deponent made in high dutch of all the severall parcells of goods which were in the ''Switzer''<br />
at the tyme of her sayd seizure as alsoe of the quantitie of livers which<br />
each parcell was to have paid at haverdegrace for freight, And hee saith<br />
every parcell therein conteyned was there to have paid the quantitie of Livers<br />
in the sayd schedule expressed And further to this article hee cannot depose/
To the 8th hee saith hee well knoweth that besides the goods claymed by<br />
the Zollicoffers and Scrothering there were in the ''Switzer'' at her seizure<br />
40 chests of soape belonging to the Master and Company of the sayd shipp<br />
and a parcell of ffustick wood used for stowage which belonged to the Owners<br />
of the sayd shipp, and alsoe all the other parcells of goods specified in<br />
the schedule in the next precedent article mentioned And further to this article<br />
hee cannot depose./
To the last hee saith his foregoeing deposition is true/
To the Interrogatories./ [CENTRE HEADING]
To the first Interrogatorie hee saith hee hath bin Purser of the shipp Interrate for these<br />
two yeares last past and was aboard her at her seizure and is a Westfalian by<br />
byrth and hath lived at hamburgh all the tyme Interrogate and is not of kinne<br />
or a servant to any of the producents and hath 4 chests of soape belonging to him<br />
which are part of the forty chests belonging to the master and Company of the sayd shipp<br />
And further hee cannot answere/
To the 2 hee saith hee hath knowne the Interrogate Langerman for 10 or 12 yeares last<br />
past and John Scrothering the like tyme and haance Conrade Zollicoffer ever since<br />
about december last And saith the sayd Scrothering and Langerman are both hamburgers<br />
by birth (as hee hath heard and beleeveth) and knoweth they have lived and kept their<br />
families there these 10 yeares last past and more and the rest of the persons Interrogate hee hath<br />
noe personall knowledge of but by Common report hath heard and beleeveth they are all<br />
Switzers of Saint Gallo And further hee cannot answere/
To the 3 hee saith hee as not present when the shipp Interrogate was bought nor<br />
sawe any money paid for it, but saith hee hath heard it was bought at<br />
Marsellis about three yeares since and upwards, nor knoweth what the same cost nor<br />
of any bill of sale made thereof, And further saving his foregoeing deposition<br />
hee cannor answere/
To the 4th Interrogatorie hee saith hee hath knowne the Interrogate hinsh above these three<br />
yeares last past and saith hee is a hamburgher And saith that about three yeares<br />
and better since (hee this deponent being then servant to the producent Langerman) did see [?severall]<br />
letters sent by the sayd Langerman from hamburgh to Marsellis<br />
to his ffactors there expressing that the sayd hinsh should then be made master of the shipp the ''Switzer''<br />
