Transcription gave expresse order and direction unto himgave expresse order and direction unto him this deponent that hee should<br /> be very carefull not to take into the said shipp any goods which should<br /> be offered or tendred to be laden for accompt of any ffrench man or men<br /> subiect of or to the ffrench king, and that if hee suspected any goods<br /> offered or brought to be laden to be fore such accompt, hee should refuse<br /> them and not receive them aboard; which order and direction hee this<br /> deponent diligently observed, and woul not receive any goods whereof<br /> hee had the least suspition that they were for ffrench, and to that purpose<br /> hee retourned severall goods, and refused to receive them because hee had<br /> that suspition of them. And otherwise hee cannot depose. To the Interrogatories. [CENTRE HEADING] To the first hee saith hee hath belonged to and bin master of the said shipp<br /> the ''liesde'' about five monethes last, and that hee was borne at<br /> derschelling aforesaid and hath dwelt there all his time, and saith there<br /> were aboard the said shipp at the time of the seizure a thousand deales<br /> belonging to the said shipps owners, wherein hee hath share being with<br /> two of his brothers living at Amsterdam owner of a quarter part of the<br /> said shipp, And otherwise hee cannot answer. To the second hee cannot depose, not knowing any of the persons producent. To the third hee referreth him selfe to the said bills of lading and to<br /> his foregoeing deposition and cannot otherwise depose. To the fourth hee saith that hee doth not knowe any of the producents<br /> and therefore cannot depose thereto. To the fifth hee saith hee signed three bills of lading (all of one tenor)<br /> for every parcell of the said goods that were laden, one of each whereof<br /> hee brought alonge in the shipp, and the same were taken from him<br /> by the Captaine that tooke him, and that the other two of each<br /> parcell hee left with the aders, or such as brought them to be signed.
