Transcription affirme to the rest of the gentlemen in Coaffirme to the rest of the gentlemen in Company togeather in<br /> the sayd Skute, that the plate and silver which was on board<br /> those shipps then lately seized by the English (meaning and<br /> speaking of the foresayd three shipps) did belonge to severall<br /> dutchmen of Amsterdam and harlem or to that effect. And<br /> further alsoe sayd that although it might be pretended that the<br /> sayd silver did belonge to hamburgh, yet at last (hee sayd) it will<br /> fall upon our owne heads, meaning and speaking of the dutch<br /> that were subiects of the States aforesayd, And further<br /> then likewise added that the English were subtile enough to finde<br /> out the grounds of the busines or to the selfe same effect and<br /> purpose, for which reasons this deponent for his part<br /> did and doth verily beleeve that the plate and silver in the sayd<br /> three shipps did and doth really belonge to the subiects of<br /> the sayd States of the United Netherlands Provinces, And<br /> further or otherwise hee saith hee cannot depose./ To the 15th and 16th articles of the sayd allegation hee saith<br /> hee cannot depose./ To the Crosse Interrogatories To the first Interrogatorie hee saith hee was not of the company<br /> of the sayd shipp the ''Saint George''./ To the second hee saith hee was not present nor sawe the ladeing<br /> of the sayd shipp./ To the 3 hee saith hee cannot depose To the 4th hee saith hee knoweth none of the Owners of the sayd shipp<br /> the ''Saint George'' To the 5th hee saith hee is not converned therein/ To the 6th hee saith his naturall language is English and that he can<br /> speake dutch as well as English and learnt the same upwards of<br /> twentie yeares agoe at Rotterdam./ To the 7th hee saith hee can both read and write both dutch and English./ To the 8th hee saith hee doth not know the Purser of the ''Saint George''/ To the 9th hee saith hee sawe not any entries at all made in the sayd Pursers booke/ To the 10th hee saith hee never sawe the sayd Pursers booke soe farr as hee knoweth or remembreth/ To the 11th hee saith hee knoweth not in what language the sayd booke is written./ To the 12th hee saith hee is not concerned./ To the 13th hee saith hee never sawe the pursers booke of the sayd<br /> shippursers booke of the sayd<br /> shipp  +
