Transcription counselled Captaine [?SaXXXan] commander ocounselled Captaine [?SaXXXan] commander of the ''Sara''<br /> to stay for the comming from Ctorus of Captaine Badiley (who<br /> was not then come back) who answered this deponent that<br /> hee having the company of Captaine [?Spanrer] in the<br /> ''Sara'' was not afraid of the dutch, nor feared any warr with them,<br /> howbeit hee resolved to depart for England in the company of the<br /> ''Sara'' without expecting the retourne of Captaine Badiley,<br /> and did depart accordingly about two or three dayes before<br /> Captaine Badileys retourne, who was daily and almost hourely<br /> expected before such their departure, all which hee knoweth<br /> being then at Zant and seeing and knoweing the premisses to be<br /> soe donne. And sairg gee gad afterwards advice from England<br /> of the safe arivall there of the said shipps. And otherwise<br /> hee cannot depose, saving that when Captaine Badiley (after about<br /> a fortnights stay at Zant after such his retourne) departed thence there<br /> was only a rumor and noe certaintie of any breach with the dutch. Upon the rest hee is not examined by direction of the producent. To the Interrogatories. [CENTRE HEADING] To the second hee saith hee hath not seene any goods weighed<br /> either ar Ligorne or Porto fferara, nor was ever at either of those<br /> places, And otherwise hee cannot answer saving as aforesaid. To the third hee saith that hee was never at Cyprus or Scanderone,<br /> but knewe one Roger ffowke at Constantinople who was brother to<br /> the interrogated ffrancis ffowke, And otherwise hee cannot answer. To the fifth hee saith that in his iudgement a master of a shipp<br /> not knowing of any apparent danger, ought not to waite upon a<br /> convoy but to followe his imployment, And otherwise hee cannot<br /> answer. To the 7th hee saith it is an usuall thinge for factors not<br /> having goods enough fully to lade a shipp for the freighters<br /> accompt, to lade goods for other men or permit others to lade<br /> to supplie the rest of her lading, and saith the master<br /> is bound to take the same in, And otherwise hee cannot answer<br /> saving as aforesaid. To the 10th hee cannot answer. To the 18th hee saith hee doth not knowe who are the freighters<br /> of the ''Thomas Bonadventure'', And otherwise hee cannot answer. To the 21 hee saith that without all doubt rgere will be<br /> losse in the lading and unlading of Cotton woolls and galls<br /> though none of them be stolne. To the 22 negatively for his part, and otherwise hee cannot depose. To the 23th hee cannot depose. To the 24th hee cannot answer.
