'''William Huggery''' of Shadwell in the County<br />
of Middlesex and parish of stepney mariner aged fifty<br />
eight yeares or thereabouts a witness sworne and<br />
examined saith and deposeth as followeth videlicet.

To the first article of the sayd allegation hee saith that hee this deponent<br />
being the arlate William huggery, and the rest of the Company of the<br />
arlate Shipp the ''Edward and John'' did all of them did enter into whole<br />
pay the voyage in question upon the second of June 1655 and did<br />
continue and serve on board her till the two and twentith day of<br />
July 1656 during which tyme hee this deponent and the rest of the<br />
Company of the sayd shipp did doe such worke as was requisite and<br />
usuall for Mariners and as they ought to doe and as the arlate<br />
Tottey did desyr him and them to doe for the service of the sayd Shipp and<br />
goods and preservation of her ladeing And further to this hee cannot depose
To the 2 article hee saith that hee this deponent being one of the sayd<br />
shipps company knoweth that there were laden to be carried in her to the<br />
Barbadoes for Accompt of the arlate Major Chamberlayne and [?others GUTTER]<br />
twenty five horses and gueldings and two mares all which (save two horses<br />
or gueldings which dyed at sea by the way) were safely transported to the<br />
Barbadoes and at their coming thither hee saith the sayd Chamberlayne<br />
and others to whome the sayd horses and mares belonged as came aboard the sayd shipp and demanded their horses and did appointe a<br />
place on shoare for the sayd horses and mares to be brought to in the Island<br />
of Barbadoes, and this deponent save them all carried on shoare and<br />
amongst the rest the gray horse or guelding in question, but hee this deponent<br />
went not with them, and saith that the arlate Turpin and one Thomas Lindsey<br />
and one Cornelius Simpson a ffleming and John hony and Edward Cooke<br />
mariners of the sayd shipp went with the horse in question and other<br />
the sayd horses and mares to deliver them at the place appointed, and did<br />
(they told the deponent) leave the horse or gelding inn question as they did<br />
the rest of them tyed in a hovell or stable on the Island with a rack<br />
and manger therto which was the place appointed by the sayd Chanberlaine and the said sayd Tottey to carry that and all the other horses and mares to, And<br />
further to this article hee cannot depose./
