to his disparagement, hee the said Rippen at length delivered 180 yards<br />
of ffrench Canvas to John Cotton of Ratcliffe sailemakerm to the end<br />
(as hee declared) to have the said Cotton bound to the said Mitchell for<br />
the said moneyes, and soe to avoide the said Mitchells frequent and<br />
earnest pressing of payment for the present, and further that there<br />
being a foresaile making in the said Rippens shopp for the said<br />
Mitchells brother a master of a shipp, the said Rippen said to this<br />
deponent whilest it was in working, John, here [?will] to tenne<br />
pounds (meaning money for the said saile) towards the payment of Mitchell,<br />
Soe the said Mitchell tooke and accepted the said Rippen for<br />
his paymaster for his said ammunition and quitted (as this deponent<br />
apprehended) both the said Corbin and the said shipp there from. And<br />
further hee cannot depose.

To the first and 2d article shee saith that on or about the 24th of January last<br />
the arlate Charles Mitchell and Mathew Clements did come to<br />
the arlate John Corbins house in wapping who was then Master of the<br />
arlate ship the ''Roger and Edmond'', and the said Mitchell did<br />
ask the said Corbins wife (the said Corbin being gone forth)<br />
whether shee could tell whether Mr Rippen (arlate) had provided<br />
him any Security for his moneyes for Ammunition delivered<br />
aboard the said Ship, to which the said Corbins wife made answer<br />
shee could not tell. and then the said Mitchell said gee must<br />
take his Course against the Ship; And the said Corbins wife telling<br />
him that hee the said Mitchell had receaved tenn pounds in part<br />
of the said Rippen, and asked him if hee did not accept of the<br />
said Mr Rippens bill for his payment; hee the said Mitchell<br />
made Answer and Confessed that hee had receaved tenn pounds<br />
of he said Rippen in part for the said Ammunition, and had<br />
taken his bill for the rest; and alsoe said that if the said<br />
Rippen would but give him good security for the rest of<br />
his moneyes for the said materialls, hee would be Content<br />
to stay a twelve moneth for it or to that eefect, at all which<br />
this deponent was present (living in house with the said Mr Corbin)<br />
and heard the same, and further cannot depose./.

To the first shee saith shee was not present att the making any release<br />
as is interrate nor sawe any money paid to the said Mitchell or [?XXX] and<br />
otherwise cannot Answer./
To the second, shee saith shee cometh required by the producent Corbin to testify in<br />
this Cause, and is to have nothing for her testimony. and otherwise negatively./
