Transcription The same day [CENTRE HEADING] Examined onThe same day [CENTRE HEADING] Examined on the sayd allegation/ '''4us''' '''George Greene''' of the parish of Saint Bartholomew<br /> nere the Royall Exchange London Grocer aged twenty<br /> five yeares or thereabouts a wittnesse sworne and<br /> examined saith and deposeth as followeth videlicet/ To the first and second articles of the sayd allegation and the schedule<br /> therein mentioned hee saith that hee this deponent was a servant to the<br /> arlate ffrancis Bellers during the whole tyme arlate and before and soe<br /> still is and knoweth that the said ffrancis Bellers Richard Glover Thomas<br /> ffowke and Company during the tyme arlate and before and since were and are<br /> and ought to bee the true and lawfull Owners and Proprietors of the arlate<br /> shipp the ''Constant Mary'' and her tackle apparrell and furniture and alsoe<br /> of the severall quantities of provisions and of the severall goods wares and<br /> Merchandizes mentioned in the schedule arlate And this hee the better<br /> knoweth for that hee this deponent as servant to the said Bellers<br /> did himselfe pay a good part of the money paid for the sayd shipp and<br /> for the severall goods wares Merchandizes and provisions and other charges<br /> mentione n the sayd schedule And doth by his sayd Masters booke of<br /> Accompts finde that his sayd Master did as one of the Owners of the <br /> sayd shipp and her sayd ladeing and provisions pay his rateable part of them<br /> according to the severall prizes specified in the sayd schedule And saith<br /> that the arlate Daniell Leister was in the moneths and tyme aforesayd<br /> Master of the sayd shipp by order of the sayd Owners And further hee<br /> cannot depose./ To the 3 and 4th articles of the sayd allegation hee saith that by a letter of<br /> Advice sent to this deponents sayd Master ffranceis Bellers and directed to him<br /> and others the Owners of the ''Constant Mary'' which letter hee hath read<br /> and perused hee doth finde that the shipp ''Constant Mary'' and her provisions<br /> and Cargo aforesayd were on the eighth day of may 1654 taken and<br /> surprized by a dutch man of warr named the ''Santa Sicillia''<br /> whereof Hans Albrechts was commander and by him carried<br /> to the Grand Canaries And further to these articles hee cannot depose To the 5th article hee saith savinghis foregoeing deposition to the first<br /> and second articles hee cannot depose./ To the 6th and 7th articles hee saith that the ''Constant Mary'' and her<br /> goods and provisions aforesayd if they had safely arrivedat Guinney and<br /> the proceede there made of them bin transported in her to the Barbados and<br /> the proceede thereof invested in goods of that place and shee returned therewith<br /> for London the same would have produced a very great and<br /> considerable profitt to her Owners over ad above their principall but what<br /> to value the same at hee knoweth not And further hee cannot depose/ Toeth not And further hee cannot depose/ To  +
