Transcription To the seaventh article and schedule annexTo the seaventh article and schedule annexed hee saith and deposeth that after the<br /> said seizure the said W[?eichall] Audrick was examined before this deponent duely<br /> and fairely by an Interpreter who well understaood and spake both ffrench and<br /> English,which hee knoweth because hee this deponent alsoe well understandeth<br /> ffrench, and the answers and confessions of the said Captaine Audrick were<br /> put into writing, and the contents thereof made knowne unto him by the said<br /> Interpreter, and hee understanding the said contents did readily and freely<br /> subscribe his name thereto in testimony of the truth thereof in this deponents<br /> presence, and that the paper hereunto annexed was and is his originall<br /> examination or confession and by him subscribed, the said examination being<br /> as taken in this deponents presence and hearing. And otherwise hee<br /> cannot depose. To the righth article hee saith and deposeth that the said shipp and her<br /> lading were taken and seized neare the Iland of Cha[?rsre] in the Streights<br /> And the said Captaine of the ''Saint Martin'' and most of his company were<br /> sick and diseased, and many of them infected with a fowle distemper<br /> soe that they could noy with safetie to them [XX XXXXX] and to cuch as should<br /> be in their company and aboard be conveniently brought to this port<br /> of London. And otherwise hee cannot depose. To the crosse Interrogatories. [CENTRE HEADING] To the first hee referreth himselfe to his foregoeing deposition and to the Acts<br /> and orders of Parliament touching ffrench shipps and goods seized<br /> by the Parliaments ffleete. To the third hee neither knoweth nor heard ought to the effect interrogated touching<br /> the Armenians mentioned in this Interrogatorie To the fourth hee saith hee hath bin at Ligorne and Smyrna, and otherwise<br /> hee cannot depose. To the fifth hee referreth himselfe to his foregoeing deposition and otherwise cannot depose To the sixth hee saith hee hath bin often in ffrance and lived some space<br /> there in which space hee learned the ffrench language during which time<br /> (which was about three yeares) this deponents father kept a ffrench marchants<br /> sonne at Portsmouth in [?leui] of him.
