Transcription Shipps comanded by Captaine Hall the said Shipps comanded by Captaine Hall the said Booke of this<br /> deponents knowledge was on bord the ''Saint Martyn'' and by some<br /> of the Companye of the man of warre which seized the said shipp<br /> hee saith the said booke was taken away and put into a bagge<br /> amongst all the other papers then abord and with them was carryed<br /> abord Captaine Halls shippe. The premisses hee deposeth because<br /> hee this Examinate was present when the said Captaine Audric soe<br /> entred all the said goods into the said Booke and sawe him doe the same<br /> and afterwards (hee being abord the ''Saint Martyn'' when shee was seized) [did GUTTER]<br /> see the said Booke put into the said Bag and carryed away from the[re GUTTER]<br /> as aforesaid. And further hee cannot depose saving that the said<br /> goods were allsoe entred in the same manner as aforesaid unto the Pursers booke of the<br /> said ship which was allsoe taken and carryed out of the said ship with the rest of the papers as is predeposed To the second article of the said Allegation hee saith and deposeth that<br /> after such tyme as the said shipp the ''Saint Martyn'' was seized<br /> and taken by the said Squadron of English ships and att such tyme as<br /> the said ship was putt under the Command of an English man and<br /> Marriners of the same Countrey hee this deponent did heare the said<br /> English commander aske the French then abord and belonging thereunto<br /> how many bales or peeces of goods the producent and the rest of the parties<br /> arlate had abord the said ship unto whom the said ffrench in this deponents<br /> heareing did make answere and tell the Englishe that the said producent<br /> and the rest of the Armenians which were then abord had about 80 bales<br /> or peeces of goods for theire owne accompt abord the said ship And<br /> soe much hee saith the Englishe then abord the said ship were<br /> diverse tymes told and informed in this deponents presence and hearing<br /> And otherwise hee cannot depose saving that when the said<br /> English Comander did as aforesaid demand of the ffrench how many<br /> bales of goods the Armenians had abord this deponent heareinge<br /> the ffrench answere that they had about eightie hee this Examinate<br /> well knoweing how many bales there were then abord for theire<br /> accompts did tell the said Englishe comander that they (meaneing himselfe<br /> the producent and the rest of the Armenians now clayaminge goods in this<br /> Court) had about 70 bales or peaces of goods there for theire owne<br /> accompts.
