To the second hee saith hee had noe order … To the second hee saith hee had noe order from the States Generall or<br />
others to come over with the said shipp to fetch over the said Lord Sch[?aa]p,<br />
but, before his coming from Amsterdam hee heard a flying report that hee<br />
was to come over from England into holland.
To the third hee saith that the said Lord Sch[?ae]p when this deponent came<br />
to him as aforesaid told him that hee had written the letter which hee sent<br />
to this deponent, the night before with his owne hand, and the same was<br />
dated accordingly, and was to the effect afore said, this deponent reading the<br />
same assoone as hee received it as aforesaid, and this deponent being<br />
aboard when hee soe received it, well knoweth that the said shipp was not<br />
then arrested, the said arrest being ladid on her that satturday afternoone after<br />
this deponents comming up to London in obedience to the said letter. And<br />
otherwise saving as aforesaid hee cannot answear, saving that hee hath<br />
the said letter as hee beleeveth in his custodi[?a] at his lodging.
To the fourth hee saith it was tuesday or wednesday or thereabouts next after the premisses<br />
before the said Lord Schaep got passage or set saile [?thence] from England<br />
and saith the said Blocks said shipp wherein hee went belongeth to<br />
dervier in Zealand and to the Colladge of Admiralti[?a] of Zealand,<br />
And otherwise hee cannot answer.
To the fifth Interrogatorie hee saith and deposeth that the said letter was and<br />
is to the effect aforesaid, and therein it was written that this deponent<br />
should [?rito, rito] come up unto him from [??such] as it was on b[?busines]<br />
concerneing the service of the Land or in words to the same effect, whereupon this deponent made all<br />
the speade hee could to come up accordingly.
To the sixth hee saith that the said Lord Sch[?oup] had not nor hath any<br />
particular interest or propertie in the said shipp, the same belonging to<br />
the foresaid Colladge of Amsterdam, but by his publique place and<br />
ministrie of State hee had authoriti[?a] to command the same.
To the seaventh hee saith the said Lord Schaep paid not nor was to<br />
pay ought for the hire or freight of the said shipp the ''Br[?a]ck]'', hee<br />
being a publique minister as aforesaid in service of the State of holland<br />
and soe capable of commanding that or any other man of warr<br />
belonging to that State, to transport him for holland.
To the last hee saith that hee knoweth not whether the said Lord Schaep was<br />
a Commissioner sent only by the Province of holland<br />
or imployed by the States Generall at the time interrogated of the said arrest, and other[?wise GUTTER]<br />
hee cannot answar saving as aforesaid.
